Well, don't forget teenage hormones have been known to create both incredible bravery and incredible stupidity. Still, I think it's a good idea, so long as the staff don't mind having to go through that wing as well (or have little choice in the matter thanks to Q).
Clingons could be a great way to slow people down, and this Bog Queen sounds like one very big and/or very dangerous swamp.

The tensions between said new teacher and the three captains (and any other staff) are going to be very interesting, not to mention the escapades of the students. I am thinking particularly the TOS students, who, unlike the others, won't have the foreknowledge to keep back - and the tricks those students who do know might play on the TOS students (or even each other) in the name of beating the competition to their respective lust objects. Things like: "You know where (insert L.O. here)'s room is in the staff section, right? You see, it's just beyond those creepy green corridors..." *Whistles innocently, knowing somebody's in for at least a good scare.*
Anyway, all in all, I'm really looking forward to the next installment. Q vs the captains is hilarious, by the way. I wonder who will be teaching what, too. Good luck!
... I like the way you've dropped clues without actually telling the reader who it is yet. It gives a good bit of suspense, draws the reader in through speculating who it might be, and I reckon the shock of first seeing exactly who it is would be best served through the eyes of one of the students.
I also loved the captain's reactions, and not only because they were so in character. Kirk had better learn quick, too, else he could get into a few scrapes (but not as much as the students, of course).
Now that you mention it...of the three of them, Kirk is my least favorite. So him getting into scrapes through his lack of knowledge...I would definitely enjoy writing that.
And I think I might have been too obvious with dropping clues, because someone already guessed. But then again, I'm not telling him he guessed right.
I had a thought: during my agents' last mission, one of the misspellings they encountered was 'Buge'. It created a mini, of course, but I reckon it also might have created something else.
In fact, I think it sounds something like rouge, the French for red, perhaps crossed with beige. Now, we all know what tends to happen with red in Star Trek, and I think you can guess what Buge was actually a misspelling of. So if red is a magnet for trouble and misfortune, I suspect Buge is a magnet for a particular kind of trouble - namely that which it is a misspelling of...
On a different note, and as a result of playing STO and starting reading HFA, I thought the Hirogen might be one good method of catching students trying to wander various places where they shouldn't (if drones and minis and security and whatever else weren't enough).
I like the Buge idea. I mean, minis do that. In fact, I found a "Sever of Mine" that I thought could be interesting…
And sometimes misspellings create creatures that are not minis, simply because it would be funnier. Buge might be an example of that. Also the Bog Queen. And Clingons.
I'll keep the Hirogen thing in mind, but I'm planning to put the Borg Queen's wing right in front of the staff section, so a fanbrat would have to be incredibly brave or incredibly stupid to try to go there.
