There's a lot more to being a boy than having pecs instead of boobs. If self-image is your main issue, then there are less drastic ways of dealing with it.
As some of you might already know, I identify as genderfluid (primarily agender). I've finally decided to medically transition and I need money.
No, I'm not asking you to donate. That's just... no. ^^;
But if you could take just a few minutes of your time to share my GoFundMe page with friends on Facebook or Tweet it or whatever, it would be a huge help and greatly appreciated. The more people who see it, the better.
Sadly, money's a bit tight right now, so I can't donate myself.

Now that Trump's won I'm half-reconsidering, but I've waited too long for this to happen and I'll be getting the procedure done around the time he's inaugurated, so hopefully before he can start doing damage.

What brought you to this decision? Of course, if you don't want to answer, feel free not to, but I would like to know what made you willing to undergo such a (literally) life-altering change.
I've always been very uncomfortable with my chest even before I began questioning my gender identity, and finally coming out to my (mercifully accepting) parents is what made me decide to go ahead and do it now, rather than wait until later. Plus, January/February is when my first job's schedule slows down, and I'll be going back to school and subsequently dropping my second job (seasonal) so I'll be able to take the time off that's needed to recover.
Basically, for me, it was a question of when and not if. I bind, which is a) itchy, b) uncomfortable, and c) not nearly a good enough substitute for the real deal. It'll be a relief to have this off my chest at last—literally. I can't wait to be able to go to the pool in just trunks, to be able to run without any pain... and hopefully it'll also stop my recurring tumors from growing back.
And yes, that was the short story. I left out the angsting that happened in-between. :P

It's kind of fascinating, really, when a woman says she wants to get a breast enhancement nobody bats an eye, but when a trans person wants to get their breasts removed everyone loses their minds.
No, I did not miss that bit. I was (obviously too obliquely) alluding to a mastectomy, which sounded like what you were really looking for anyway. Pardon me if I sounded blunt there, but I did not see any other way to word it.

Transition can mean a wide variety of things for different people; some transition socially, some transition medically through hormones, top surgery, and/or bottom surgery. My medical transition is going to consist only of a double mastectomy, because I don't want anyone messing around with my other bits and going on testosterone just isn't my idea of fun.
Not a paradox, just a misunderstanding.
Unless I am mistaken, "transition" implies gender reassignment.
So unless you're also going to be asking the doctors to give you man…like…pecs…

(and it seems like that may well be what you'll be asking for (please correct me if I'm wrong)), then all you needed to say was that you were considering a double mastectomy, not to medically transition.
Double mastectomy removes all breast tissue; FTM top surgery leaves some behind to shape and contour for a more masculine chest, which is what I'm hoping to achieve.

Either way, thanks for clearing up the initial confusion. I could theoretically ask more questions, but frankly, I don't think at this point that there would be any benefit to either of us from me continuing.
