Overall, I think that the question that needs to be asked is "what are we trying to learn with this question on the census?" I get that the PPC is a comedic setting and we're a bunch of funny nerds who like a good story before anything else, but I personally feel like that may need to be toned down for the survey questions. After all, how will knowing what piece of DoSAT tech is best-liked help us, as a community, adapt to the needs of our members? If a question doesn't serve a purpose, then there isn't a reason to have it.
(In particular, I think the "What's your favorite [X] in the PPC?" questions can just be a separate Board thread that pops up every once in a while.)
