And re writing prompts, I could see myself managing to respond to them monthly.
So a couple of weeks ago in the Discord we were discussing when we joined the PPC and I ended up scrolling through the old posts because I couldn't remember exactly when I'd joined. Turns out I joined 11th July 2013, so I've been here for just over 7 years now. Who'd of thunk it?
Funny thing was that I'd planned this post to go out on the 11th and to make a little song and dance of it. And then completely forgot.
Anyway, this wasn't the only reason why I wanted to post. Lately I've been thinking about reviving my weekly writing prompts that I used to put up as a way of getting people to write stuff on the Board, it didn't have to be PPC-related, and it didn't really have a time limit on it. I guess I'm just trying to gauge people's interest in such a thing (although it'll probably become a monthly release of multiple prompts rather than a couple every week).

And re writing prompts, I could see myself managing to respond to them monthly.
I’d probably be interested in the prompts if I could actually find some time in my increasingly busy writing schedule. If I can just get a few weeks ahead with updates on my main WIP...
I don't want people to feel like X prompt came from the July post so I must post it in response to the July post. Sod that, if you finish it in August, September, December or whenever then go ahead and post it in reponse (if you want to, that bit too is entirely up to you). That's what I meant about a lack of time limit.
(The joke's on me: since when is 2013 /seven years ago/? Eesh!)
So I've historically been terrible at responding to writing prompts, even when I was the one posting them. I could certainly try to improve; short writing is a lot of fun.

Come to think of it, I've been poking through my old (see what I did there?) Monthlyish PPC Writing Challenges. It looks like they got a pretty decent turnout! So there is appetite for writing to prompts.
The issue, historically, has been that anything that happens regularly tends to start being ignored, and so the person running it stops bothering. Which isn't really anyone's fault, it just... is.

That combined with my not-so-great timekeeping were what caused me to stop doing the weekly prompts in the first place. But I'm hoping monthly will be regular enough to be a thing but not too regular. Or at least for a little while I guess.
June 11 is an excellent day, isn't it? ^_~
I'd be happy to see the prompts return. I know I fell off the wagon of actually filling them, but I'm up for trying again! Monthly should be very doable.

I especially like the lack of time limit to them. I've done some stuff with weekly-ish prompts where you have to post it within the week and eventually stopped because I just couldn't keep up the pace.
