Because I found this really mouth-watering recipe: roasted hens in merlot wine, studded with blackberries. Yum.

I have a whole cookbook of ice lolly recipes, only I haven't made any. I'm actually puzzled by pops that are just bars of solid ice on a stick – how do you bite that?

It's based on the soup from Twilight Princess. I think there is an official recipe by Nintendo, but it didn't have any fish ingredients. The fan-made recipes do and this one was the one I used.

There's this really cool and soothing Youtube channel I watch sometimes, where the channel owner restores old objects in disrepair, and the noodle maker video is my favorite of theirs. Halfway through, once the actual repair process is done, it just turns into a cooking video of them making noodle soup with it. I approve of that.

18th Century Cooking isn't just a cooking channel, it also provides lots of history lessons about 18th century American and European culture.

I usuallly watch them after dinner when nobody is in the mood to cook. I think I will have to plan on doing some cooking this weekend. Thanks for reminding me about them.

Fish soup/chowder
3 large potatoes washed and chopped into small cubes
2 onions, peeled and chopped
3 carrots, washed and chopped into small pieces
Water
1 package of smoked salmon
Milk or half and half
Salt
Pepper
your choice of herbs
Olive oil
Saute the vegetables in a frying pan until they are mostly cooked.
Fill a large pot about ⅔ of the way with water. Add the vegetables and salt and pepper. Boil until everything is soft.
Add the milk and smoked salmon and cook for a few more minutes. Your soup is done.

Is it advisable to purée the soup?

I'm not sure. I've never pureed it, but it would probably be fine. (nm) by
