It was very good! I really liked seeing Mellon as human, and even though I’m not super familiar with Discworld, I liked seeing that too.

Interlude: Ditching Wings
In which Mellon finds himself a new body, causes havoc at HQ in the process, and A Witch Did It.
Words cannot express how fun it was to hang out in Discworld. A little scary, but fun. Hope I did it justice. (Footnotes are fiddly.)

Hey, sorry it took me so long to get to reading this. It's been quite some busy weeks for me!
I really, really enjoyed this! It's a very PPC story, through and through. You made incredible use of so many elements of Headquarters: not just the physical elements like the Escher room and all the cameos, but the Marquis's drive for recruits, the discussion with Freedenberg over all the options the PPC has at its disposal, and my favorite of all, bending the usual protocols to have Intel seek out a goodfic, and turning it into a low-key mission to both give Mellon the opportunity he needed, and provide Gadrik and Fellrazer the mental enrichment they've been lacking. It's such a great little package you've tied together! (And speaking of Gadrik, he feels like a very realistic toddler here, too; you did a great job of describing a two-year-old's mannerisms!) I also loved all the detail you went into describing Mellon's thought process as a crow. Crows are tricky, being non-sapient animals that nonetheless have very complex mental faculties, and I think you did a great job of getting across a level of abstract thought without just resorting to using words. The conversation with the Marquis, with the emojis standing in for speech, was especially funny and expressive!
Some other, minor details I enjoyed: I like the idea that the lighting in HQ comes out of plotholes. I've always just figured HQ had visibility simply because the narrative laws required it for our characters to serve their roles, but the plothole detail really helps reinforce the patchwork nature of the "building." Also, I enjoyed Granny Weatherwax's little diatribe about choice vs. decision. Good stuff!

I was afraid I had bitten off more than I could chew with a lot of different threads, and I wasn't sure how it was all going to fit together... I am so glad everyone is happy with their agents' cameos! It was my biggest fear.
Crows are really neat. =) Mellon would be about the same level of intelligence as Gadrik; it's a shame they didn't get to interract more come to think of it. (It is very likely though that Gall insisted on a quick trip to Ankh-Morpork after they picked him up to extend family vacation a little longer, so they might have bonded.)

Love the chaos caused by Mellon. LSY was as Done as ever, hahah.
And I'm glad I got the cameos right... I was testing that ability in myself for a larger scale project a little further down the line. Best not to say too much about it right now. XD

...I just want to stop further sign-ups in this thread. XD I appreciate the enthusiasm, but this isn't the right place for it. I'll make a proper thread when the time comes where any requests about crediting and such will be in one place! Makes it way easier for me.

Yeah, the extra spaces is something Ao3 does sometimes... I think it's something in HTML that causes it, so it has to be fixed manually. I'll get to it eventually, but it happens all the time. >.<

Not gonna lie, writing Granny was intimidating. And I went through a lot of different ideas for how to turn Mellon human before I settled on good old fashioned magic.
