I declare that it is indeed the case that Commonwealth natives have the same degree of sarcasm as British ones do, due to inheriting it from Mama England. :P
Well, I've been absent a while. I come bearing gifts. I think some of it's rather funny.
Don't know if anyone's seen this before, but it's a rather tongue-in-cheek approach to some fanfiction terms. Found it via TVTropes and the internet wayback machine. It's called "The Horrifically Honest Guide to Fanfiction Terms", and is by the Bag Enders.

AU: Cunning way of utterly ignoring every salient plot fact about a given movie/tv programme except for the most important one, i.e. that it stars Ewan MacGregor.
Bah! The AUs I have in my brain involve branching off from some point on the timeline in a logical way to follow possibilities I find interesting, whether they were touched on in canon and I noticed something that had to have happened (Hullo, Kingdom of the Great Spirit! How's your Bara Magna doing? Overrun by Skrall because Mata Nui wasn't there to wallop Tuma and turn Metus into a snake, huh?) or if I just went 'hey, what if the Chronicler's Company Matoran became Toa with the Toa stones the Toa Metru made?'
... but yes I do occasionally write something that sort of fits this definition of AU I can't always be writing unrequited Kiina/Mata Nui, dammit, a shipper can only take so much

As Canadians, we're part of the Commonwealth. So, technically? We're just as sarcastic as them, because we are them. :D

Funny website though. Certainly a few amusing terms there.
Try watching some Doctor Who, that tends to get me thinking in the accents at least.
My tendency is to remember specific jokes, so jokes by, say, British characters, I'll remember distincly with the accent. Take, for example, the movie Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel ("Here's an idea. Instead of a time machine that runs on karaoke and urine, maybe they could have one with a dial, with dates on it. Something crazy like that?") or Ferb from Phineas and Ferb ("Well, it occurs to me that perhaps not all of the modifications I made are technically 'street legal'."). Hilarious stuff (that's the tip of the iceberg, if you ask me), and the accents just sort of come with the humour.
Oh yeah, I remember things with the accent they came in. I also tend to fall into a vaguely British accent while reading something out loud or quoting unless the quote's got a distinct accent of its own, it's a bit odd...
