I had to make do with a vaguely lilac shirt. But I got my towel and my tiny lighsaber keychain.

Hey guys! It's the Glorious 25th of May, which means three important anniversaries!
1. Lilac Day, in the Discworld continuum, celebrating The People's Republic of Treacle Mine Road, truth, justice, reasonably-priced love, and hard-boiled eggs.
2. Towel Day, for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fans. Where's your towel? (I got mine!)
3. The 35th - yes, it's been that long! - anniversary of the release of Star Wars Episode IV.
May we all join together on this day and rejoice, for geekdom is remembered again!

I just finished reading Night Watch. 'Twas glorious indeed. Also, I didn't know about it being the anniversary of Star Wars IV. I guess you really do learn something new every day.

Sadly, the lilacs near my house have stopped blooming. Curse you, global warming! But I'm wearing a purple shirt that's kinda close to a lilac's color.
I always forget my towel. It's in the bathroom, though, so it's ready to grab.
Happy geek pride today. I wore a Star Wars shirt with a lilac (or as close as I could get) over shirt and always knew where my towel was!

Alas, the lilacs are always gone by now over here. Someday I'll invest in some fake ones so I can bring them out and wear them.

~Neshomeh, celebrating her ninth Glorious 25th since joining the PPC.
Because people kept giving me odd looks. My friends get it though, even though they all forgot theirs. and I have no access to a lilac plant so I've had to make do with a drawing.
My friends and I have always celebrated towel day on the 31st, mostly because we are girls scouts. We get a lot of strange looks, marching in the Memorial day parade holding towels.
Although apparently, people give you odd looks for taking a towel into a high school. It's now in my bag for safe keeping.
I have my towel! That I am also going to a theme park today has no bearing on that...
