...we need to work on getting you into some of the lesser known composers. Seriously, there are a TON of classical composers, and a lot of them escape the public eye for many reasons.

So I'll just run you through a primer of a couple of composers whose music you have to hear sometime.

So... let's get started:

Claudio Monteverdi (Italian Renaissance composer, mostly known as the guy who REALLY brought Opera into its own as its own genre):

Richard Wagner (German Romantic composer, perhaps best known for the concept of the 'leitmotif'. He wrote "Ride of the Valkries", which always pisses me off because it's far from the best thing Wagner ever wrote.):

Dmitri Shostakovich (Russian 20th Century composer. Yes, that means he was part of the Soviet Union, but trust me, he had rather frequent spats with his government because of his music.)
