Honestly, everything that was changed from the books was changed for understandable reasons-- fit the movie. The pacing felt right, the characterization was spot on, and aside from a handful of minor quibbles (the Lovegoods' house was, I felt, more dreary than it needed to be; part of what made that so poignant was what preceeded it - also, the eye-color has slightly bothered me from the first movie), it was awesome.

The end of an era, in a way. I doubt they'll ever be my favorite books or movies, and I won't say they're The Best [insert category] Ever, but there is still something... profound? about the very last movie of the series.

I went to the midnight premiere with a load of friends, and I have to say, it was a geekishly wonderful experience. The whole theatre burst into applause at certain points, everyone was dressed up (I was a Death Eater), and everyone in the whole town seemed to be talking about it. I really felt like part of a nerd fraternity.

I had some quibbles about the movie, but they're nothing compared to the way it brought people together.

For the most part they got it right. But they glossed over a couple important parts and they screwed up the final battle scene. At least, I think they did.

Also I found it very funny that they made Lily have brown eyes. Whatever happened to Harry having his mother's eyes?

I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie, especially because my two favorite parts of the last book are gonna be in it...

I admit I haven't seen the first part yet... but having read the books, does it really matter, since I already know what happens?
