~Neshomeh
... Ugh, that is a godawful punctuation cluster at the end there. >.
So, I'm sorta kinda toying with a Blackout story set in FicPsych, and as such it would be useful to know who's there at the time. I'm mostly looking for canon characters, so if your agents or anyone you know of had dropped anyone off around then, let me know, and please point me at the mission where it happened. Otherwise, if you know of a canon who's being particularly mistreated in fanfic at the moment, let me know who they are and what their damage is, and that'll work just fine, too.
I'll also take agent suggestions. If you want to volunteer yours, let me know who they are, why they're there, and (optionally) which nurse they normally see.
I'm not guaranteeing I'll use every suggestion I get; it just depends on where the story goes. Still, the more I have to work with, the better, so don't hesitate to throw ideas at me. {= )
Thanks!
~Neshomeh
You have inspired me to figure out something else to do with them.
How'd I do that? Just curious. {= )
~Neshomeh
My characters were in FicPsych before my first story starts, you connected the Blackout and FicPsych, and I connected my characters to the Blackout. So I'm essentially starting with a Blackout interlude.
So, they're not going to be in FicPsych at all, then, or is it going to be another story set there during the Blackout? I'm a little confused by the connections. I apologize if I'm being dense—I'm in the home stretch of the "Blood Raining Night" mission (first draft; it's gonna need an overhaul and about 25% cut for length even before it goes to beta), and the writing bug is playing absolute havoc with my sleep and my ability to think about other things. >.
~Neshomeh
Confused, that is. By my own thought processes. Basically, what you did was open my mind to the idea that I don't need to stick with the scene that just doesn't work, I can start someplace totally different. So I played around with the Blackout, but then decided that I didn't want to interfere in anyone else's continuity. But now I was thinking of new possibilities, and I've decided to make my agent's backstory mission the actual first mission, rather than just the scary event in the past that I was having trouble hinting at. They will leave for this mission right before the Blackout, and come back as FicPsych is cleaning up from whatever-it-is. But you don't have to worry...it'll be part of my story and will only have to reference your interlude.
Bottom line, you made me brainstorm about stories, and some of the randomness that comes with brainstorming leaked onto the Board.
Ok, I could only find a commentary of this.....thank goodness. Otherwise I would be literally downing a whole bottle of bleeprin.
Is this a badfic on one of the legendary/bleepfic lists and I just didn't notice? I can't find any mention of this until the commentary, and I'm just......
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8002590/1/Imma-Wizerd-Commentary
...I think I'm in shock.
What is this fic.
This is no fic, this is a travesty.
I must PPC it.
Or MST it for Library of the Damned.
What is this thing.
*drinks*
I knew there was a reason I bought this chocolate Bleepolate milk! Good stuff. I can still remember it, sort of, but I'm not in shock anymore; wonderful.
Okay, anyone else up for a *shudder* mission to this thing? It needs killing. Or MSTing. Or both. I don't even--I just--what.
Oh, no, the shock's coming back...must consume Bleeproducts...
~DF
Are you suggesting I include a canon character from this fic in my Blackout story, or did you just post in this thread by accident? Otherwise, I'm very confused. O.o
~Neshomeh
I'd send in my avatar-avatar, but she's in a different place during the Blackout, as far as I know.
~DF
However, people were mentioning it on a dozen different sites when I ran internet searches, and I eventually found a site that has Imma Wizerd preserved in all of its misspelled hideousness.
Advance with caution.
But I can't understand a flipping thing.
But the backstory of one of my agents involves a stay in FicPsych due to an incredibly squicky badfic and a Suvian partner. Actully, said Suvian artner would be there too, undergoing severe Glitter reduction - or would that be Medical?
Then again, I've already written the beginning of the first mission, and I'd have to rewrite it if I included them in the Blackout. But come to think of it, I'm not particularly pleased with what I've written so far, so, yes, take them. I'll post bios when I have a chance. Also, they might have brought Data, but I'll see.
So, yeah, if you want them.
Agent Agen_t of the DIC is having a long stint in Medical, and has mandatory sessions at FicPsych. Does that count?
If so, Agent is a former bit character SHIELD agent from an Avengers Suefic. Due to lack of description, ze has yet to choose a gender or an eye color, although ze wears colored contacts for the eyes. Ze was injured on a mission (ze's spending so long in Medical that I think ze's probably doing PT) and is unwillingly continuing zir sessions in FicPsych, where they discuss zir opinions and suchlike in order to help zir form a personality faster. Agent would prefer to do this on her own, and avoids FicPsych when possible...however, this time, it's not possible, so ze's probably in a perpetually bad mood.
Of course, it's quite possible I'm replying too late anyhow, but I thought I'd mention that Agen_t's there.
In terms of canon characters...well, Tony Stark tends to be in for a lot of badfic, unfortunately. You might also consider some of the Hunger Games characters--Finnick in particular seems to be a popular choice in fanfics, as are Peeta and Gale. And I'd say Sherlock and John from the BBC show, but they're also in my interlude :) You could have Bilbo and Smaug, though--the amount of badfic with them...ugh. The Master could also be in there; judging by some of the stuff on Quotev, he's not going unscathed.
~DF
Do we really want an IC Doctor meeting an OOC Master....
Actually, that could be interesting.
...who are being treated for Sweet Apple Massacre.
...and the badfic itself is from a while ago. Contemporary badfic sufferers would probably be best in this case.
Besides, Twilight Sparkle's already in there. There's no need for that many MLP characters at once in the story.
It doesn't matter when the badfic is from as long as the mission takes place in the appropriate timeframe. Of course, if there isn't a mission at all yet, having characters from that particular fic is an issue.
Regardless, though, don't you think it's my call what characters to use in my story? {= /
~Neshomeh
But I think you already knew that...
The characters need to be in FicPsych when the Blackout happens (first week of April), so if the missions take place beforehand, then sure. Just let me know what they're in for, and maybe link me to the badfic for reference.
~Neshomeh
I'll make a note the mission's just before the blackout, it's probably going to be a really short one because the fic is a tiny gorram thing. Wash is there because he was in a fic where he was flying the skiff Mal shoots down in Firefly's pilot. He was put in a POW camp, raped in prison by Mal (who's undoubtedly a character replacement) and years later, when he's looking for work, he makes it three steps onto Serenity before Mal spots him and shoots him. The fic is here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3405993/1/Come-Around
Also, an agent if it helps. Agent Cham of the DAVD is exposed to one of the most extreme departments and mission types out there, and to make it worse he's allergic to Bleep. It's established he doesn't go down to FicPsych terribly often, but this could be an exception. Here's his wiki page, with links to an appearance: http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/Cham
I've also got a mission in progress with him and Kalmer I just found in my gdocs, if it would help to see that.
Poor Wash! Anyone would need therapy after that. {= (
Hm, so did you adopt Cham and Kalmer from Spud Avec, then? What about Leon Barker?
~Neshomeh
As for Cham and Kalmer, yes. We were sharing those characters to begin with, and since she's kinda been unable to do much with the PPC due to stuff going on in her life, she handed the pair off to me.
I'd definitely like to get Leon involved in the story, since he's a veteran of the 2008 epidemic and invasion, and half my idea for this has to do with power outages generally heralding Bad Things in HQ.
~Neshomeh
She's still active on another community I'm on, so I can always mention this next I see her - which should probably be sometime tomorrow.
... has run out of capital letters!
there must have been someone typing a massive capslock rant somewhere else on the internet. supply and demand - and we ended up without any.
hs
this isn't funny, you know.
personally, i blame this here troll: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/4582239/WeDrinkRitalin
i reported them when i first discovered them. feel free to add your reports to mine. {= p
~neshomeh
nesh? what did i just read?
brb, rebooting brain.
okay, what. just what.
that's it, i'm sending my agents on the shortest mission ever. they'll take down the one with jack sparrow in it, since i don't know a thing about the homestuck canon.
does this fall under the jurisdiction of the department of trolls? er, assuming i didn't just make up the department of trolls? i mean, i'm doing the mission either way (shortest mission ever, probably), but i'd like to know if they're being temporarily transferred or not.
and yes, i'm aware that it might not be worth it to take on a mission this short. i will make it worth it. maybe it could happen during the blackout, thereby causing all sorts of issues with actually getting in and out of the mission safely...ooh, what if that's what brenda and charlie were doing during the blackout? that could be interesting...they'll probably come out with an aversion to loud noises.
~df
i knew i'd seen that mentioned on the board lately...
~df
...you know.
they don't seem to work for just my initials, though, which is annoying.
although Neshomeh also seems to have a capital letter? only it doesn't seem to work when you add a tilde...maybe that's why ~df doesn't turn out in capitals! maybe it Needs to be DF...
aha!
~
DF
dangit, dawnfire, i was saving those ns! i mean, i know it's my fault for using one up so early in this wretched caps drought, but still. {; p
~neshomeh
well, if you were saving them, you might have said; i thought they might be unlimited when not paired with tildes, so i used one to make a point.
at least my stores of capital 'd's and 'f's are still mostly full...for now...
~df
(ps: hs, the dbp-troll division fic is hilarious. especially the bit with Jay and acacia. actually, the entire thing is hilarious, but jay and Acacia had me in stitches.)
...huh, what do you know--i had one capital letter each for jay and acacia! pity I don't have m--where did that 'i' come from?
...could it be that the caps drought is...beginning to ease?
*looks around hopefully for punctuation rain*
i don't see any sign of the caps drought easing. though wait... there's a capital letter in my title
Interesting.
they're all in capitals and everything.
it would certainly kill me to actually read any of them.
~neshomeh
Tony Stark should be getting smacked around in fanfiction quite soon, given that Iron Man 3 has been around for more than a week now, and there will probably be idiot plot bunnies multiplying out there somewhere.
Also, Quotev seems to have gotten ahold of Castiel, (from Supernatural) and going to Quotev will break anyone's brain.
So the FicPsych patients would be from fandoms affected within that time period. Castiel still works, though, but Iron Man 3 wouldn't be out for a month at that point.
Chances are if he's gonna show up it'd be near the end, around the time the Doctor goes to FicPsych too. And he'd be with Sam and Dean and everyone else.
Then there was the whole bit about him wandering by the Cryptomusic Archives, and the whole Batman Musical subplot that hasn't really been elaborated on yet... yeah, I don't know why I didn't remember Castiel.
Twiight Sparkle is probably in FicPsych after all the...controversy over her newly acquired wings.
Legolas always
Q just because it started on April 1st.
You... you don't know how hilarious it is that you suggested Twilight Sparkle. See, I was talking to Tungsten Monk about including some of her characters, and Agent Ithalond has this thing about the color purple—or, more specifically, lavender. This might be a thing that happens. ^_^; Is she getting a lot of bad fixfic, or something like that?
Yeah, Legolas probably has a permanent room. Maybe with bonsai trees to make it more home-like.
As for Q... is there some relationship between Q and April 1st I should know about?
~Neshomeh
Some of it's also capitalizing on "when Twilight/some pony turns into an alicorn" fanfic ideas from before the Season 3 finale, and most of those are really stupid. Between the fixfic and the misguided "I knew it" fic, she's probably under a lot of stress.
I might end up missioning one of those fics that claims Twilight was created by her teacher, Princess Celestia, like some kind of machine to be her successor, just because it's such a ridiculous idea. The Season Three finale's probably going to cause a lot of instances of that fic type to update with new chapters saying that Twilight's wings are the result of her maturing into an alicorn, or something of the sort.
I'm not sure about what would be happening to Q, though.
April Fools? He makes jokes? No? I like it.
Stupid touch keapad...
I don't have any suggestions for patients, but I am currently working on an Interlude involving some of the mini-Moggets that my agents have responsiblity for being transferred/seconded to FicPsych - I think you might have been the one to suggest that idea, or at the very least remind me of it?
If you're interested in having the minis there for your Blackout piece, I can have the adoption piece be set before the Blackout (seeing as I don't think the exact timing effects my plotline at all), and send you notes for what I'm working on.
I think I have enough half-formed ideas spinning around my head without trying to add mini-Moggets at this point, so I'll pass on that. Thanks anyway, though. {= )
~Neshomeh
Hm... Doc Kindheart, perhaps? She's in Medical most of the time but it's plausible she could be doing something down there for a bit - organizing patient medications or visiting one of hers or something? I dunno.
Right now, Agent!Des is still in FicPsych after facing a particularly nasty badfic.
68 pages, huh? And I thought my missions ran long. Could I get the abridged version, maybe?
~Neshomeh
Quoth the mission:
" “This ‘fic is, for the lack of a better word, horrendous,” [des] said. Taptaptaptap. Taptaptaptap. “First of all and least important, grammar. It is full of run-ons and abuse of periods and ellipses.” Taptaptaptap. Taptaptaptap. “Second... well, saying that the whole Nanoha-verse is replaced is an understatement. I estimate ninety percent replacements, including... including...” his voice broke down. He took a gulp of tea and changed the subject. “There might be a few possessed canons, especially from the Halo-verse, but I might think that because I know jack squat about it.” Taptaptaptap. Taptaptaptap. “Third, last, and most horrid...” his voice dropped to a whisper, and he grabbed his axe. There was an anomaly of sorts around the axe’s head - it looked like it was moving in a different speed than it should be - and little sparks were jumping around the blade. “Trivialisation. Of. Of. Mass murder.” He got up and put both of his hands on the table. “Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to face a mass murderer Sue.”
Tera made an odd coughing noise. “Not just one. Almost every Nanoha canon, save for Carim Gracia, Ixpellia, and Schach Noeura, is replaced. Ginga is working for Jail, Agito has abandoned Signum, and pretty much everyone associated with the TSAB is Always Chaotic Evil. Fate - she tortures Schach. In front of Vivio.” "
Basically:
1) Various bad grammar charges.
2) Massive replacement of characters. Just about every character with more than a line is replaced, and the rest are OOC.
2.1) One of the most OP, violent, hypocritical and plain idiotic Replacement!Sues I've even seen.
3) Trivialised mass murder and disgusting cruelty and violence.
There are other charges as well, but the last two are what makes that fic truly horrible.
But last time he was mentioned, Abelardo Nevrakis worked as an intern/errand-runner there. His ability to enter dream/feel emotions could come in handy.
Flare left both him and Ardo to me in terms of writing and cameo permissions. I added that detail to the Wiki now.
... Selene is probably still in a padded cell somewhere. Unless FicPsych outsource the permanent cases.
hS
I'm not sure where they could send her safely. The question is, though, does containing her take power?
(The question also is "do I want to deal with a rampaging vampire in this story?", and the answer to that one is "no," but still. Backup generators might be a thing.)
Now I'm imagining her and Jeannine Guiles shouting to each other across the hall. I don't imagine that Selene is a great conversationalist, but you gotta get your kicks somehow...
~Neshomeh
I'd imagine there would be some crazy agents and former staff that just can't be reached or keep relapsing, and so would need to be kept in the Department indefinitely. Do the Psychs have a designated ward for that kind of case? Maybe just some specialized rooms in the basement?
Does HQ even have basements?
There is indeed a relatively small in-patient section. Ideally, I imagine the nurses prefer to get people stable enough to send home rather than keep them penned up forever, because that is both inhumane and a drain on their resources, but with the kind of crazy you get in the PPC, sometimes letting them go is just not possible. They don't keep them in a basement, though.
HQ does have basements and sub-basements—the DAVD is located in one, the Phantom of the Opera Division was/is in another, and I think one account has the pool deep beneath all other basements, reachable only by an absurdly long flight of stairs.
~Neshomeh
... not. Since basically all you need to contain her is a room that is a) strong enough not to be torn through by a hell-wolf and b) lightning-proof. I believe her lightning is line-of-sight.
Or, of course, you could stake her through the heart and keep her in a jamjar. I haven't read Dracula though, so I don't know if that would work.

Christianne's ex-partner's reported by the Multiverse Monitor to have gone insane. Her name's Selma Salmon, and she worked with Christianne in the Harry Potter division of the DMS.
Feel free to use her if you want.
