We've been getting a lot of newbies on the Board recently...
Anyway, have a festive holiday tin of Bleepermint Bark! Made with bleepolate (chocolate and Bleeprin) and crushed-up candy canes.
Suddenly, with a great and angelic chorus, the disembodied administrator of the Greater Sol Province burst into being. In his deep and manly baritone he said "Where the hell am I?"
So yeah. I'm Guvnor of Space, not so prolific internet author. I'm not sure whether I'll write stories for this setting, but I certainly want to be able to respond to any interesting looking discussions on this board. So I created an account, and decided to post some sort of introduction.
In other sectors of the internet I'm known as Guvnorium, but I always write under Guvnor of Space. Both mean nothing, and both were invented in the wee hours of the morning. Also, I'm not British.
My fandoms include, but are not limited to, Stargate (SG-1 mostly), Star Wars, and Animorphs. I also like Lord of the Rings.
Notable opinions on fandoms:
Lord of the Rings: Yes, I have read the books. No, I was unable to make it more than fifty pages into the Simeralion. Sorry, I'm not that dedicated.
Animorphs: Seriously? That's how you end your series?
Star Wars: Han shot first. Anything after the Hand of Thrawn books has not been read by the Guvnor.
Stargate: Yes, Universe sucks. No, it is not worth boycotting, and is still better than most anything else on TV. Hell, it's better than the last season of Atlantis.

The ...place... was full of humans/humanoids, all falling in slightly different categories and degrees of insanity. In their scratchy/pure, wavering/monotone, low/high and random voices they replied, "Do you expect us to know where we are? How the heck are we supposed to know where you are?" *stares all around*
Question: Did you make it into LotR through the movies, or the books?
How did Animorphs end? (I didn't read that far.)
Would you prefer this gift basket with knitting supplies and daggers, or this one with C4 and chocolate?

One: I am an entity that rules this section of the Universe, and though I have no body, I can take a physical form when dealing with sentient beings. I came up with that about a month ago. Before that, Guvnor of Space meant nothing.
Two: I started with the Hobbit, then saw the movies, then read the books. The books are better
Three: "Ram the Blade Ship" I will say no more.
Four: I'll take the C4 and chocolate, as both are more formidable as weapons than knitting supplies and daggers.
Five: I was already corrected, and the Mini-Balrog has already been adopted.
Six: When George Lucus re-released A New Hope, he edited it so that Greedo shot Han before Han shot Greedo, because "Han is a good guy."
...okay.
Sounds good. You can kill Auditors with chocolate, anyways. Or yourself. Or both.
I highly suggest you start reading Terry Pratchett. Good stuff, that. Especially the novels with Samuel Vimes.

Hey, if you read the end you would understand why I have that reaction. Also, because I read every single book at least twice, I've never been able to understand why people couldn't finish the series.
Because I never continued after 5th grade, and have been busy with others since. If you really think I should, I guess I can start from the start and all that. Is it really really really good?
That's why I stopped. Still, I got about halfway through, and I agree about the ending. Ax was always my favorite.
Anyway! Hello, and welcome! It's always fun meeting Animorphs fans, given that this guy is one of my agents. Instant fan, right? Eh?

Well, I read them all at that age as well. Okay, I continued through the sixth grade, but still. I'm just a fast reader. They're still enjoyable now I guess, but I can't give an objective answer due to nostalgia.
@Neshomeh: An Andalite eh? I'd rather have a Yeerk agent, so they can be condescending about everything. If someone is allowed to have a Wraith agent... Andalites are cool too. :) Oh snap! Andalite + Yeerk as partners. Would they kill each other before they could get anything done? Probably. Would it be hilarious? Most definitely.
When I have time, I will be sure to read your stories.

Have a pet cat and a lot of snow. Please take the snow. We have too much of it. Also, there may be a Deadly Looking Icicle embedded into it, so be careful.
I live near one of the great lakes, and we are six inches away from our snowiest month in all of history. So while I do like snow, I already have plenty.

Have a soft hat, knitted from the spun downy pelts of Cute Animal Friends! It is sure to keep your ears nice and warm in the coldest, most unforgivably chilling badfic! And the depths of space too, I guess-- so long as you wear it under a helmet or something.
I shall treasure it forever. It isn't often that people give gifts of clothing to non-corporeal entities such as myself. They don't seem to realize that we need protection from badfic just like everyone else!

... thanks to two of them, that they're big experts on BBQs. Whatever and Krisprolls are the kings of the thing. As for South, I haven't had the occasion to go to his, but I trust him on the matter. They co-organize often.

The Silmarillion is pretty heavy going for a lot of people, even insane fans such as myself, so I can't blame you for having trouble with it. No need to apologise. Besides, mini-Balrogs are cuddly and warm, and make great heatpacks in cold weather.

I thought they were also incredibly dangerous, and likely to try to eat any Mary Sues that they encounter. If you don't mind, I'll be keeping my Guvnor of Space internet persona away from Simeralion.
They're only dangerous to Sues and Official Fanfic University students. But if you'd rather not have miniature fire demons nearby, I can respect that. :)
