Umm...hi?
...I'm not good at this kind of thing.
I'm new here. ...Obviously. I've been watching for a while, and...well, it seems like a great community. Geekiness, a comfortable level of insanity, senses of humor...
So. Uh...I'm Curisosia. I'm currently being a Silmarillion geek. And rereading LotR. And working my way through the Diskworld books.
I'm really bad at introductions. *sigh* -

How do you get the text so tiny?
Plus, a warning: even geeky, comfortably humorous groups have rules, and things that people frown upon, and stuff, so check out the constitution and don't post half a dozen threads a day.
Other than that, I'm your fellow newbie, so let's be new and awkward together... -

*poke* Welcome! What with Tolkien and Discworld, you've got just about everything you need to get most of the in-jokes and get along very well here. {= )
To help you out with learning everything else, here follows the List of Links we give (in some form or another) to every newbie. (This time I've ganked them from Sedri's last newbie-welcoming post.) In short, they are a bunch of 'Go Read This Now Please' URLs that actually do give Useful Information. In relative order of sensible-reading-ness, they are:
* The Original PPC Series, which we usually assume you've already read. (Have you?)
* The List of Killed Badfic, which will direct you to a large number of non-Original PPC Missions.
The Board:
* The Board Constitution
* The FAQ: For the Board
The Wiki:
* We have our very own PPC Wiki
* The very-important-to-read-before-requesting-Permission Permission article
* Our Guide To The PPC
* The Mission Writing Guide
* The Slash-Sporking Guide
* The FAQ: For Newbies.
When you are ready to edit the wiki, make sure to read Neshomeh's excellent editing tutorial (Sedri's words, not mine! *blush*).
And finally, but very usefully,
* The List of Everything PPC
And that's about it. Enjoy!

I hope so, though I'll have to finish the Discworld books first (more of the matter of getting them through the library than anything). And there seems to be so many various fandoms here...

Venomous arthropods other than spiders include:
-scorpions
-centipedes
-ants and bees
-remipedes (rare, ancient crustaceans that look like centipedes)
I apologize for the preceding nerd rant. -

I stand corrected!
But--venomous centipedes what. I should have thought of scorpions, and I can see ants and bees (we don't really think of them as venomous, but it would be for a smaller creature?), but centipedes? Wow.
Well. You learn new things every day. Thank you for educating me!
