Nice to meet you :) As I'm guessing the others have probably said, not knowing Lord of the Rings is hardly going to disqualify you from joining our little community, though you may miss out on some jokes and meaningful details as you read the Original Series.

But on the other hand, welcome to the board. We're all a bit mad here, so we don't mind a bit of insanity and we definitely like people who've read the original LotR series. (By the way, who do you ship in there, if at all? And are you a Legolas fangirl?)
