I've kinda lurked here a little bit on and off and I've several missions that have been put up including the original series and as a newbie I just wanted to say 'hi' to everyone. I'd already registered here before but forgot til just a second ago when logging in worked. I don't know if posted then or not but I'm a newbie here either way.

Have a welcoming hug or glomp, your choice.
They have bumper stickers somewhere at the entrance *waves around* and I still have to think of something to give to newbies. So for now, a batch of PPC cookies.
Look, there's a mini-Balrog cookie, and a S.O. cookie, and a CAD cookie, and...
Anyway, welcome!
Do be aware that Boarders and Agents alike like shiny new things, and you might be a little overwhelmed. -

Take a gun. Sometimes, only armour-piercing bullets will kill Sues. They tends to be quite nasty people, that's why we have to kill them.

Lovely to meet you :)
Best suggestion about the register/login function is to forget about it; it's notoriously useless. Most people around here just type their name every time - it saves a lot of fuss and trouble. There's actually a section on it in our FAQ: For the Board. Which is a Link! And therefore a perfect way to introduce you to...
THE LINKS!
Which, if you don't know from your lurking, are the lot of 'Go Read This Now Please' urls that we throw at every newbie since they actually do give Useful Information. In relative order of sensible-reading-ness, they are:
* The Original PPC Series, which we assume you've already read.
* The List of Killed Badfic, which will direct you to a large number of non-Original PPC Missions.
The Board:
* The Board Constitution
* The FAQ: For the Board
The Wiki:
* We have our very own PPC Wiki
* The very-important-to-read-before-requesting-Permission Permission article
* Our (my!) Guide To The PPC
* The Mission Writing Guide
* The Slash-Sporking Guide
* The FAQ: For Newbies.
When you are ready to edit the wiki, make sure to read Neshomeh's excellent editing tutorial.
And finally, but very usefully,
* The List of Everything PPC -

Welcome! I present you with your very own Frying Pan of DOOMtm, useful for hitting Author Wraiths and incoherent spammers over the head, as well as for cooking with. I'd wash it first, though, if you plan on cooking something if you've used it as a weapon recently. Agents Ian and Lee send their regards, along with a large batch of freshly baked cookies in your choice of flavor.

Have a rain forest dragon. They're tiny, so they can fly through the thick canopy more easily. Except they don't really fly, they just glide on a membrane of skin between their legs. They also don't breathe fire, because forest fires are bad. (This dragon may actually be a lizard.)

(Fixed my name since you said it's easier to just type it in).
Thank you for the dragon, big kitty and lizard. Is this lizard perhaps a weigeltisaurus or coelurosauravus? I put the lizard on my shoulder for safe keeping. And ok. Feed the lioness meat without glitter in it, got it.
I'm not a rabid fan of anything as far as I know. I'm part of the Rescue Ranger fandom and TaleSpin fandom. I like The Hobbit and would like to see a good movie adaption of it. I am guilty of wishing there were fairies in Middle Earth but I've come to except it and haven't written any fanfics saying otherwise. Based on the few fanfics I have written it is for the best that I haven't. I'm also fond of Peter Pan, the book not the movies. (big long rant removed). I'm sorry my grammar isn't very good and spelling has always given me trouble.
I also like the Lord of the Rings books and movies. My favorite characters from there would be Gimli, Pippin and Merry. Bilbo's my favorite from The Hobbit but not so much in The Fellowship of the Ring.
I'm a grew up mostly in the 90's and I'm fond of many of the cartoons of that time and Loony Tunes which used to play in reruns all the time back then. My favorite Loony Tune is Pepe Le Pew and I haven't seen too many fanfics with him and I really should be grateful since that means less badfics but it also means less goodfics too.
Within the last year I got hooked on role playing (in the Redwall fandom) and I now own most of the books in that series because of it. I've been role playing a year and a half now but the MUCK I role play on isn't as strict on some aspects of the cannon as some would like I know but it's kinda of an AU as it's set many years after the books (any events from any of the books are refereed to as having happened ages ago).
Takes the scarf and jelly babies. -

I love much of Rudyard Kipling's work especially his Mowgli stories. Like Peter Pan I prefer the books to the movies but I've seen most if not all the movies there are based off of the stories about Mowgli and I've seen a /little/ of the cartoon series based off the books as well. I know there is one badfic in this fandom. There are many that just use Kaa which would be fine as Kipling's stories are public domain now except they use Disney's version of Kaa (because they couldn't invent a snake with hypnotic eyes themselves for some reason).
