Hi there. I'm a real-life lolcat, and I was directed to this board by a dear friend (even though I'd read PPC several years ago, I'd somehow never meandered my fatcat way over to the board).
Long-time reader of badfic and the mocking thereof. Fan of The Burning Dumpster (run by a friend of my brother's, actually) and PPC in particular. My sister and I did some of our own MST3King of some fic in the grand tradition of the Burning Dumpster, but we then got distracted by shiny lights.
So. Hi. -

Welcome to the Board! Please deposit your sanity in the provided receptacle. *indicates bucket marked "Warg Fodder"* You shan't need it here. Also, here's... OH NOES! THE STRING! YOU MUST CAPTURE IT!

Do I detect a fellow Warriors fan? Your cattiness and screen name suggest such.
Hello! Welcome to the insanity! We could use more lolcats here. *pets* -

Warriors? I am not familiar with this. My name comes from a list of Mary Sue names gleaned from random fics. -

I take it upon myself to extend welcomes from the entire army of newbies that has assaulted this board over the past month. Unfortunately I just gave away my last stuffed Emu, but I've got a toy rat named Roger that you can have instead.

Hello! Have a seventeen foot long, multi-colored, wool, knit scarf (curly wig not included), and a bag of jelly babies.
I added extra tassels onto the ends of yours, so it will make a better kitty toy. :D
Please use themIRresponsibly!
You do not have wings or opposable thumbs or any leanings toward mad science, do you? -

Also, tassels! Bat..bat bat bat.
(On a more serious note, I have actually crocheted a 16 foot Dr Who scarf. Makari can attest to this.)
Wings...sometimes, but only one.
Opposable thumbs? I am an amoeba cat. I can make my body morph at will. So, yes.
I'm unfortunately not cunning enough to have leanings towards mad science. I'm more a "smash first, ask questions later" type gal. (My weapon of choice is Vera.) -

Whew! No more mad scientist kitty cats. That is a relief.
That is so cool about the scarf. In Real Life I want to learn how to knit, primarily so I can make of these.
Vera, the gun, Vera? -

For learning the basics of knitting, I recommend the Stitch'n'Bitch book by Debbie Stoller. That's how I learned (after having learnt it years ago and forgetting it and then having to re-learn, that is).
And for the scarf in particular, this site is very useful: http://www.doctorwhoscarf.com/
Yep, the gun Vera. ;) -

I have seen that site. It is very cool. I was much too lazy last night to go get the link, and paste it in here. I really have no idea why I was still up at 3 am.
I'll look that book up. Thanks for the recommendation.
How did you get Vera!? -

(Seriously though it was more an allusion to me being the Jayne of the party rather than anyone else. Jayne or Zoe, really. Sort of a mid-ground between the two.) -

If I pet you will I lose something?
And, welcome to the Board finally~ : ) I offer you a leash, flame-retardant and approximately brain-sized, for when you don't want your mind to wander.

...then again, purr-haps not. Have you ever lost anything while petting me? (Besides your will to do anything else, that is. I am quite an adorable kitty.)

*ties one end of leash to paw, other end to brain*
There! (Though I might release my brain from the leash on occasion -- you know, to spice things up. Mmm. Spicy brains.) -

I don't know what you've already read, of course, but there are a few things you should definitely make time for. First, there is the Original PPC Series by Jay and Acacia. It is our canon and that which started it all.
Second, we require that everyone read and abide by the Board Constitution, because it's nicer that way.
After that, there are several helpful documents on the Wiki designed to help acquaint newcomers with us and our habits and behaviors and general weirdness. Sedri's Guide to the PPC is particularly informative, especially when combined with the FAQ for Newbies and the Mission Writing Guide. If you do want to write PPC missions, you should also see the article about how to get Official Permission.
And that's probably quite enough to start with. {= ) Welcome! Have a bumper-sticker! *sticks one on you* ^__^

Yay! Sharp and pointy. ^_^
As for fandoms, I read mostly HP (favorite pairings/triplings in goodfic are Drarry, HG/SS, Remus/Hermione, the entire Golden Trio, Fred/Hermione/George (only in a few fics, and the twins weren't together -- they were just both dating Hermione), pretty much anything with Hermione, period). I love reading badfi...il my brain explodes.
Goodficwise, I read lots of Good Omens, too. Crowley/Aziraphale for forever.
I also enjoy reading badfics from The Matrix (or ones that crossover The Matrix and Legend of Zelda NO I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING), bad PBEM-RPG profiles, Final Fantasy, LotR....
I'll pretty much read anything sent my way if I know enough about the world it's set in to understand what's going on. Or to not understand what's going on, as the case may be. -
