Introduction of a new guy. by

Well... introductions. Normally a denizen of forums, I am new to the concept of a board. After reading several of the original tales involving Jay and Acacia, and then a portion of the wiki, I found that I must join this.
I am a living encyclopedia of all things Warhammer 40k, most things Star Wars, and some things LOTR. I am one of those people that cannot stand a breach in canon, which caused a friend of mine to link me to the wiki... ect. And now, fearing that I am beginning to ramble-

Have a platter of chocolate-covered profiteroles, a pet mongoose (which can be collected from the PPC Mongoose Shelter in RC 2816), and a some Mandalorian crushgaunts.
Greetings, fellow LoTR and Star Wars fan. LoTR is fairly common round here, but Star Wars seems less so (or at least Boarders don't seem to talk about it quite as much).
Like the name, too.
Elcalion, welcoming. -

I know it's a tad early for this, but I already find myself thinking about it: Do agents have to be called by Agent ______? or is it just quasi-tradition?

Not HAVE to, per se... by

But that IS what they are, so I don't know why you wouldn't call them that. I mean, I suppose you could say "Assassin Thorntree" or "Untangler Ilraen," but that gets a bit cumbersome and/or weird when it comes to other action departments. No one would ever say "Bad Slasher Trojanhorse" or "Floater July" or "Spy Architeuthis," for example.
I suppose the infrastructure departments make for some exceptions, but even then--in FicPsych, for example--it wouldn't be wrong to refer to one of their personnel as Agent Whoever even though they're normally called Nurse Whoever. All PPC employees are agents of the PPC, even if they aren't called that. So, where they ARE normally called Agent Whoever, I don't know why you wouldn't want to.
I'm not sure I understand the question, really. O.o

I hope to, in the future, develop "The Suit" as an agent. I just don't like the ring of "Agent Suit" and referring to someone constantly as "The [Noun]" can be a bit unmanageable, as I've found in writing other stories. I use "Mr. Suit" as one of my aliases to correct this problem. Simply put, I am curious as to whether or not "Mr. Suit" would be an acceptable agent name. I thought about including here a mini-story explaining a first meeting with the Marquis de Sod, but I haven't read anything with him(it?) in it and don't want to write poorly for him.

Agent The Suit? {; p
No... however you work it out would probably be fine. He probably would have to explain his preference to the Flowers more than once, since they're used to calling everyone Agent Whatever, which would be fun.
As for the Marquis, I can think of a few times he appears off the top of my head:
TOS #8: Why Am I Here?
Introducing Ilraen, one of mine.
Swim, one of July's.
Hope that helps.

Well, I finally finished all of the TOS, and all of the other suggested reading in the stock greeting. Also, I got around to reading Introducing Ilraen, and I feel that I must complement you on your work. I couldn't come up with any specific way of complementing it that didn't come out as overwhelming understatement, so I will simply put a *Suit Stamp of Approval* on it. I thank you for giving me a high standard.

It doesn't get much more complimentary than a loss of words. That's an older work, too. ^_^;
As for misspelling your own name... it happens. And now you've got a mini-Boarder! They don't have standard appearances, but I imagine this one might be a little kiddie-sized tuxedo. *grin*

Though I had already read TOS #8, I hadn't put two and two together. When I read that one particularly, it was before I looked up who was in charge of personnel, ect. Bah, name mix-ups. Thanks for the info.

I don't know what you've already read, of course, but there are a few things you should definitely make time for. First, there is the Original PPC Series by Jay and Acacia. It is our canon and that which started it all.
Second, we require that everyone read and abide by the Board Constitution, because it's nicer that way.
After that, there are several helpful documents on the Wiki designed to help acquaint newcomers with us and our habits and behaviors and general weirdness. Sedri's Guide to the PPC is particularly informative, especially when combined with the FAQ for Newbies and the Mission Writing Guide. If you do want to write PPC missions, you should also see the article about how to get Official Permission.
And that's probably quite enough to start with. {= ) Welcome! Have a bumper-sticker! *sticks one on you* ^__^

So far I've read most of the original series, the constitution, the Guide to the PPC, and about how to get Official permission. That only leaves the FAQ for Newbies, the Mission Writing Guide, and the last few sections of the Original series.

Welcome to the PPC! Here's an archery set from the Raven Armory and a bottle of bleeprin. (If you wish to know, I got the Raven Armory items from the actual Tortal-verse Armory and off of various Sues who think they deserve Raven Armory items. The Raven Armory doesn't take kindly to Sues.)
