My name is OrangeDream, I came here from TVTropes.org, and I like the idea of entering fictional universes and laying down the law. I haven't been able to get through LOTR yet (anyone know if It's public domain yet? I wouldn't mind being able to read it online), the universes I'm familiar with are One Piece, Sonic, Star Wars and of course Sonichu. one of the reasons i came here was because it owuld be interesting to see how we could take on and entire universe of mary sues instead of removing one from a regular canon.

Greetings, sir OrangeDream! (Is it a coincidence that the initials are OD? Just curious.)
Ah, One Piece. The 4Kids massacre of that anime completely turned me off it. Oh well. Good luck with your future missions! Have a Forrest Gump box of chocolates; it's just like life! -

Welcome :) I believe the others have told you most of what you need to know, so I'll just stick to welcoming you.
And no, sadly, I don't believe Lord of the Rings is going to be public domain for a while yet. Good thing, too, or else we'd have no leg to stand on with PPC missions. -

If the sonichu continuity isn't considered enough of a threat (by being too connected to the sonic and pokemon continuities) to justify collapsing it, then what if a mary sue (claiming to be a boyfriend-free girl) enters cwcville with the intent to create an army of sonichus?

Well, my second today. Your first, though. *pokes*
LotR is owned by the Tolkien Estate, I think, and I hope it always will be. Peter Jackson owns the slice of the pie that is the movies, though. And a lucrative and artificial sweetener-filled slice it is, too.
I might have a Sonic fic for you to tackle eventually, when you get Permission. I meant to take it on with a friend, but we never finished, and it is quite the blatant little Gary-Stu. I just don't know enough of the games to do it myself.

Welcome to the PPC! Here's a complementary set of daggers from the Raven Armory and a jug of bleepka. I wish we could take on canon Sues sometimes. However, it isn't allowed because it would sort of ruin the stories if most of the main characters were killed off. MSTing is allowed, though. (I was going to take on canon sues, too, in particular the ones on fiction press.)

I'd love to take on the really trashy stories. MSTing them isn't quite as much fun as killing them. Rogue assassins FTW!
I really dislike Mary Sues. I'm not sure it would be quite legal to try to kill the Twilight characters, though. I mean, we'd be bored to death before ever finishing the first six chapters of the book. (What I find is funny on original fiction websites, is that some of the writers take being told that they write like SMeyer as a compliment. XD ) -

like one for unvoluntary moral implications in the fic, one to make the world more original/less crappy/whatever, one to watch/check the fic/universe before the action departments come in, etc.
In the example of Twilight, I would send somebody to give lessons about healthy relationships, stalking, whatever, somebody else to kill the Cullens and Bella, somebody else disguised as regular vampires to tell the other vampires what they should look like, etc. -

It would definitely be more diplomatic. I can see some of the saner fans and antis accepting that plan, in a way. Not the fans who have "I love Edward Cullen" tattooed on their face, though. (Yet, a part of me just wants to drop an atomic bomb-or five-on the continuum and be done with it. :P)

Admittedly it is a food from the Lord of the Rings, but if you think of it as shortbread you'll be fine :)
I must point out however that we're not allowed to kill Canon Sues. Points for the enthusiasm, but them's the rules :) -

Does Christian Weston Chandler/Sonichu really count as a canon sue in this case? I mean, the whole story is one big rant about how all women already have boyfriends and the mall cops wont let him stalk women. There really isn't much in the way of canon in the first place. You can find all of the sonichu "comics" as audiobooks on youtube if you havent already

I'm as much as a newbie here as you, but I think by the very fact that CWC created Sonichu makes him untouchable, unfortunately. See, what he does in his own comics is well within the limits of the canon. It's a canon he created.
Or maybe I'm crazy. I dunno. -

The question is how to interpret
"publishing" and "canon." Are webcomics published? Are poorly done massively multiplayer crossovers canon? Does the fact that CWC claims his work is a parody (Which itself is an attempt to exploit a loophole) render sonichu noncanon? I'm definitely going to write a mission where I try to exploit loopholes like this -

I'd say an original work intended and made available for viewing by a public audience is a published canon. I'd also say that parodies fall under that definition, since they operate with their own internal rules, separate from what they parody.
That said, we're the Protectors of the Plot Continuum, meaning that our aim is to preserve the various canons, not muck with them. If we don't happen to like them, we just leave them alone. If mucking with them is what you want to do, that's your business, but please don't do it under our name. That means no exploiting supposed loopholes to have a go at canons in PPC missions, whether you like the canons or not. Clear enough?
~Neshomeh, who would also like to point out that clearing up misconceptions like this is why we have the month-long probationary period. -

fair enough, but what about my other idea of having to stop someone else from messing with the canon and creating an army of mary sues? I would have to make up a mary sue character because CWC doesn't have any actual fangirls, but would it be acceptable?
