I'm really excited to announce this one. Gestalt Therapy, my newest story, takes place in FicPsych during the tumultuous events of March and April, 2008. It's long, but it is also in parts for your convenience. I hope you enjoy it.

I rather like this one, though it does remind me of a point that I don't recall ever being adressed. Doesn't voyager have the macrovirus cure as of the end of the first and possibly only cannonical appearance of the macrovirus? If so, why did it take so long to create and deploy it?

--And here I have to point out that I've never seen the Star Trek episodes in question myself--but I believe the reason was that the PPC's Medical Department was simply too swamped with casualties, and with actually fighting off the viruses, to synthesize the cure. As soon as the big bugs were killed off, they were free to get on with it. You'd have to ask Tawaki to be sure, though.

Personally, I suspect it's a side effect of Real World time leeching into HQ, where it doesn't really have any business being. Comes of keeping a Door open to New Caledonia and mucking about with TARDISes and such.

I'm glad you liked my story, anyway. {= )

It really seems that cure synthesis should have been the highest priority. Maybe the area it had to be done in was overrun, though one would think that would be mentioned.

Of course, I had a teensy sneak-peek, hahaha. I found the second part as a whole particularly interesting, especially the process of Derik going through the reality room. I really like how it rationalised his scars and such.

Anyway, I'm glad I have a character squirrelled away in FicPsych. I think, like I said when I had a look, that you did him perfect justice and took good care of him. No *permament* damage was done anyway ;).

BUT YEAH. It was a really interesting take on things, and it was nice to see kind of alternative war stories to the 'main' events of each crisis. Shows that even though the invasion and epidemic have been and gone, there's still room for more writing to be done about them.

Lovely, all of it! A great morning read. I like... well, all of it, especially the overall cohesion, as well as some littler things, my absurdness insists that I randomly mention a few: Luke going out to play hero, for instance - very typical. Now I'm getting mental images of Legolas going with him, armed with bow and arrow and totally unable to communicate with his partner...

Exclaimation-Mark TARDIS! How fitting :D

Also, I really like how you've written the inclusion of the Duty Song, as well as the Reality Room, and how it affected E'rik/Derik. I wonder if I should shove Iza in there... ;)

I thought about having Legolas join Luke, but I decided Legolas was more likely to be cautious, especially since he had no way to really understand what Luke was about to do. I had said he was mostly in-character, after all. {= )

I have to second the love of the way the Reality Room was handled. You noticed, Neshomeh, I'm sure, that I had very little beta-y comments to make in that section? 's 'cause I couldn't find anything much to quibble over that managed to make itself heard over the general feeling of being masterfully pulled in to a really excellent and well thought out bit of narrative. In fact, anyone reading this who hasn't read the fic, consider this a plug - it's worth it for that bit if nothing else.

Sedri - I also considered what would happen if Iza was shoved in there. While the results would be interesting, I'm not sure they'd help Trojie and I to write her, so maybe we'll avoid it for now, but it was an interesting mental exercise nonetheless. Especially when I started considering the effects of the room on every other agent we write. And then Marsha.

I'm going to have to go over that bit to figure out what I did right. ^^; I like getting inside people's heads, but I'm guessing that's not what makes it work. I did know it was going to happen from the beginning, and what it was going to do to him. I couldn't leave him 'Sued. {= P

As for putting other agents in there, I agree it's probably not the best idea, but many of them would probably escape relatively unscathed. It's the ones from defined canons who would have to worry the most.

Sues, of course, are in danger of their very lives in that room because of bad description. *g* Incidentally, I knew that Derik was going to end up with a sledgehammer by the end of the story, but I didn't know about the Sue turning into one until I got there.

...not to test that theory. Most Agents should avoid that room, I think - not just the ones born in badfics, but also those who've been through experiences that they otherwise wouldn't have survived. The results could get... messy.

The room probably would've just rationalised how they managed to survive it, working with what's known of the 'verse and events. So it might not be too messy, but it depends on the Agent and such.

I like it. I particularly like Derek (pretty much his whole section in Part Two) and the view we get on how the fight against the Macrovirus Infestation actually went. I think that was the first fight in HQ I've read that actually seemed desparate.

Saving worlds: just one more thing the PPC has in common with the dragonriders. {= ) I'm glad you like Derik. You'll definitely be seeing more of him (and Earwig).

I like exploring the things that happen in the PPC as things that would have real effects on real people. With people as strange as the ones inhabiting HQ, it can be entertaining as well as dramatic. At least, that's the idea.

-ake. Whether the League did it or not, the character decided to blame the EPC. For some reason. And I pretty much have to agree with what's been said before, especially about the desperation angle; that was a refreshing change from a setting that oft sees attackers get utterly curbstomped. I've thought of doing something like this before, but I wasn't sure if I could do it justice, and I thought that the community as a whole would be sick of this kind of thing and not want to hear more of it.
