R.A. Salvatore and the woman who wrote the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. (I've forgotten her name, but those are a must-read. Seriously.)
I noticed these stories through TVtropes yesterday, and now that I'm on a computer (as opposed to my phone) I just popped in to say hi.
I'd love to make one of these myself, really... unfortunately, I'm not all that well-versed in Tolkien. Or can it extend to other fandoms? Forgive me, I haven't had the time to go through all the stories yet.
have some C4. it is perfectly harmless. right now. no guarantees about later, though. and welcome...
We will add your writing and story-telling distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile.
Seriously, welcome.
Good for cleaning up after killing Mary Sues. *not-so-subtlely shoves a DMS flag into your hands*
Welcome! :)
Welcome to the PPC Board! Please deposit your sanity in the provided receptacle. *provides bucket labeled "Big Nasty Thing Fodder"* You probably won't need it here. I've never met you, but I'm going to hug you anyway, and also have the Philosopher's Scone. It is scone-y.

Welcome! Have a winged kitten, and watch out for giant glass jars.
And please tell me how you make that music note appear.
Not really. I press alt+13! ♪
alt+3 is a heart, too, by the way. ♥
And while we're answering questions, do I make a new thread to introduce my agents when I'm done with laying out my designs?
And... you lied! Or we just have different types of computers. Take your pick.
or you could try alt+enter
♫see?♫
Welcome! Here's a special helm from the Raven Armory! Yes, there are more fandoms than Tolkien. I'm in three, and none of them are LotR. It's nice to meet you.
We are protectors of all plot continuums, so don't worry about not being very well-versed in Tolkien.
As for my gift to you...it's an egg whisk! It's shiny, gold-plated, and whisks not only eggs but author wraiths and spambots, too! Use it for good and not much evil.
Welcome to the insanity! Enjoy the ride. ;-)
Welcome! I'm impressed you managed to leave TV Tropes; Eru knows it's more than I can usually do.
But... welcome! Have a free walnut and a weighted companion cube! (it will never threaten to stab you!)
Really? I've missed my old one since the euthanasia.
Have a shapeshifting plushie.
C-can it become a bunny...?
Any bunnies - angora, regular, or otherwise.
If you're into Nightmare Fuel, it can turn into Cthulhu (Always popular) and a bunch of other things as well.
Would you prefer a TARDIS or a response center for any Agents you devise?
A TARDIS or a response center... oh, God, it's so difficult to decide... I think a response center would be best, though, since it's more easily furnished.
The last one seemed to like it.
I really ought to know what that is, I suppose, but I'll ask anyway: What is an Anti-Lustin blade, and does it make things scream and/or explode?
Just like a venom blade, only it dampens felings of lust in the people you cut with it, instead of poisoning them. As for Anti-Lustin, It is a substance that stops people from going head over heels in lust whenever they meet a hot canon character (it doesn't work on Sues, however). The sword produces its own.
Oh, sweet cherry pie, yes. But wouldn't a dagger work a little better than a sword, given that the purpose doesn't seem to be wounding the target but bringing them from out of a daze? A dagger would be considerably more precise. Plus if it were a nice throwing knife, you could just flick your wrist, yank it out, and stride away.
I comes bearing links. *drags out Big Bag O' Links and digs through it*
First off is the link to the Wiki, a veritable fount of information for a newbie to read through. Especially helpful for you if you want to write missions would be the page on Permission (note the capital P).
I would advise against reading any Legendary Badfic, unless you are of strong mind and stomach. Even the summaries have been known to give those of weaker constitution nightmares.
For your reading pleasure, not knowing what you have already managed to find, I have several links for you. The Original Series (not to be confused with Star Trek) is a good place to start, as the PPC did many aeons ago. What do you mean I'm exaggerating? The Department of Geographical Aberrations is another interesting place to visit, if you have the time and inclination. Also by hS is the Tangled Webs site, which contains backstory for the PPC as an organisation. If you would rather visit the Floaters, then July's site is the place you need to be. And last, but most definitely not least, Response Centre 45 is where Trojie and Pads' missions are archived.
Hope you enjoy your stay here. Please deposit your sanity into the container offered to you by another Boarder; you won't be needing it here.
My dear, I've read through the entirety of My Immortal. My system has been sufficiently strengthened, I should think, against terrible literature of all shapes and sizes. I did start with the original series, (I fell asleep about halfway through. Not out of boredom - they were a great read - but because I started at about 12:30 in the morning.)
I did not know there was a wiki, so thanks for that, truly!
THe Department of Geographical Aberrations... hm... I'll look into that sometime! ♥ All this other stuff is nice as well. Odd that I've missed the movement for so long.
And the response center! LOVELY!
In any case, don't worry, my sanity was shattered into convenient bite-sized chunks for use when needed long ago. (My character's germaphobia? Only slightly exxagerated from my own.)
Well, of all of them actually.
(Warning: randomness ahead!)
It's lovely to have you here! Here, have a present of a bag of pebbles and a Random Shiny Object. We're all a bit crazy here, and keeping your sanity (preferably in a box) is pretty much optional.
That said, here's some helpful information; no, you don't have to be a Tolkien nut to join here. We cover every fandom that anybody wants to cover, from Tolkien to Star Wars to Redwall and all kinds of others.
The best thing to do would be to check out the Original Series (those written by Jay and Acacia) and the PPC Wiki, not to mention The Reorganisation and Crashing Down. Other people's recommendations, and links, will probably be presented to you very soon. I personally recommend the above, and also to read the PPC Constitution for the basic rules of behaviour we're expected to follow.
If you want to join and write your own stuff, the basic guidelines are as follows;
1. Thou shalt hang around the Board for a month or so, so we can get to know thee.
2. Thou shalt then post asking for Permission, including in the post thine Agent profiles, a sample of thy writing, and maybe the fic thou intendest to kill.
3. The Permission Givers shall then gaze upon it and, if it be to their liking, grant thee Permission. And therefore, verily, thou mayst go forth and PPC to thine heart's content.
Basically, not too much is required of you except for the above requirements, and when you join you can work in any fandom you feel confident enough in.
Once again, lovely to have you here. I hope you have fun.
Why, I'm absolutely delighted to be welcomed so warmly.
And extensively. *reads everything*
Well, I'll be happy to comply! ♪
I probably won't be presenting the character until I get a half-decent picture of him. (I'm a [crappy] CG artist and I generally try to draw my characters before using them in any medium to get a better idea of them myself.)
Though what I've got so far is he's a half-insane germaphobe. (To the point of not being all that afraid of being sick, but just afraid of the concept of germs.) And he hates anomalies...
Mine are several SF TV series and films, fantasy books, RPF about my favorite band, and I think I'll add RPF about F1 (I was a fan in my early teenage years and I just came across slash about the drivers back then and also with the current ones, whom I don't know very much)
I'm a big gamer, so my fandoms of choice are Kingdom Hearts and The World Ends With You. The former... oh, dear God, it'll be a warzone. At least the TWEWY writers seem to be more competent, but still.
...There was one who had Sora as a goth... with... *shudder* fishnet stockings. Now, I'm a gay guy, and I like slash as much as the next person, but... Sora? He's the most happy-go-lucky character in the whole goddamned series.
MOVING RIGHT ALONG, I also love books, primarily fantasy, though Terry Pratchett is my current favorite fantasy author. And I've seen some truly shitty I say this in lieu of favorite author because there are also Celia Rivenbark and Jill Conner Browne, whose books you simply must read, by the way, if you have anything resembling a sense of humor. But then, knowing me, I may just disregard what I've said and go for something entirely different! ♪
PTerry is worshipped by many PPCers.
Any other fantasy writers you particularly like?
R.A. Salvatore and the woman who wrote the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. (I've forgotten her name, but those are a must-read. Seriously.)
I agree, she's awesome. Bit later with my welcome, sorry. But welcome to PPC. We're all very crazy, but generally quite nice. Have some cyber chocolate.

Wow, okay, sorry, I was doing office work (I'm standing in for my mother's receptionist) and I made a lot of mistakes.
