I assumed it was either A) the government or B) Private donations from certain corporations in the interest of saving their hides from fangirls.

Members of this noble Board of the PPC, we must beware! The PPC is starting to lose its focus on traditional values! Or, well, not-so-traditional.
As all know, the true Golden Age of the PPC was not during the reign of the evil Mysterious Somebody, but in the days of the revered Jay and Acacia, when the LotR movies were being released. But now we are falling away from this noble heritage! We are reverting to darker times! Just think!
*In the unenlightened old days, before we humans joined, the Flowers used to destroy whole worlds to deal with Mary-Sues. Now the Pyro Department has weapons of terror with which they do the exact same thing!
*Once, portals were fixed in place, opening in "doors" next to the console. In some Response Centers now, we can see the exact same thing!
*Everyone knows about the DIS and their reign of terror. But have you not noticed more DIA Agents around HQ lately? Haven't there been more arrests? The exact same thing is happening!
I urge you, wise Boarders, be vigilant! Do not let these changes continue! They cost so-- no, ignore that. But on behalf of all right-thinking Agents, I plead with you -- do not let us slip further away from the golden days of six years ago!
~Agent Sambar, Department of Finance, on behalf of all proponents of Cycle Theory
(Author's note: No, of course I'm not serious. Change is a good thing. But poor Sambar isn't used to it, and after all, what the PPC really needs is another off-kilter conspiracy theorist, right? :P)
Is this some random boredom-induced idea, or is it something you're going somewhere with/got from somewhere? Seems random enough that I'm kind of curious, even though any right I had to post in this topic was probably revoked a while back.
Oh, come on, KG, you're not worthless. Life is short! Eat the chocolate!
(Or... not. :P Nah, it's just a bit of ridiculousness)
Please don't play the 'worthless' card; it's pointless. You can always ask questions like this.
What are you, a believer of Pythia? "All this has happened before and all of it will happen again..." been there, heard that. Now what?
(to the author: thank the Gods you weren't serious. x])
Okay, this isn't related to your post, but since you're from the Finance Dept, I'll ask you the question currently nagging me: Who finances the PPC, anyway? All this technology, this infrastructure and those hundreds of agents must cost an awful lot...
We steal it.
You know. Sues have ruby eyes and glittering diamond orbs. And all their fancy weapons make a great deal of money on certain markets we aren't allowed to speak about.
We're doing the best we can, thank you very much. We've been struggling with funding for years, not to mention the random pay cuts and raises whenever Agents have tantrums and demand raises or get into trouble. Not to mention we have to work with a whole range of currencies. Do you have any idea what it's like trying to figure out the exchange rate between Star Wars Republic Credits and Potterverse Galleons? It's a headache, that's what it is.
At least, that's how I've always thought about it, Agents running random businesses and the like, and most of the funds going to Finance. I seem to remember it being implied somewhere that we have a hand in the real estate business, but I don't remember where that was.
Since, y'know, no one gets any.
Entire planets from continua such as Star Wars/Star Trek/ Doctor Who might well vanish through the plotholes. Also, aren't there thousands of Agents?
I assumed it was either A) the government or B) Private donations from certain corporations in the interest of saving their hides from fangirls.
That, and there's all sorts of hordes and treasures throughout history that have been lost and never rediscovered. Personally, I like to think that we sent scuba-diving agents down to retrieve the riches of Glaurung's horde in Nargothrond after the Akallabeth, which provided the first major chunk of funding for the PPC.
