Yup.
I finally finished it. Went through it with my beta this afternoon, fought with Freewebs about formatting and did homework.
The end result is this.

I swear the next one I take is going to be much shorter.
Hmm... wiki pages are in order now.

Very nice! I don't know the fandom at all, but still managed to understand most of the details - well done!

I particularly like this bit:

My favourite bit was the impromptu trial caused by a typo, myself, due to the hilarity of the mental image, but the whole thing was excellent. I especially liked how the characters started to snap back to IC when the Sue died and it was only the neuralyzer that saved Katrina from being in a world of trouble. Samuel holding his own in a fight against Kratos was odd, but interesting, I hope we'll be seeing more of him. Overall though, it was an excellently written mission. I only hope my first can be half as good as this one. Excellent job, again.

OMG. Someone else familiar with ToS. *glee* Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm being overloaded with praise. @_@ And yes, the Samuel vs. Kratos thing was interesting. I'm attributing it partially to Kratos holding back a little thanks to the presence of the group, and partially to Samuel's skills. He's good with a sword. Can't handle other weapons worth beans, though.

Yeah, I've played the game a few times, enough to be fairly familiar with it. You also suggested the fact that he was so OOC affected his fighting abilities, but I still think he's lucky he didn't get skewered. :P Still, it was a fun read.

That was highly enjoyable, although I'm sure that some of it was lost on me, being that I've no knowledge of the fandom whatsoever, haha. Still, I didn't find it too much of an ordeal in length, I thought it was a goodly size. Enough to get your teeth into without dragging.

I very much liked the ending, and I'm anticipating your next mission with eagerness.

Also noticed you've written "portaled", with just one L - is that a legitimate American spelling? Never seen it that way before. I'd complain that it's curtsey, not curtsy, but some of the online dictionaries are backing you up on that one.

She followed him though in short order. - missing an R in "through".

I have no idea about the canon, but still, an enjoyable first mission.

Hehe, looks like even two people can't catch everything. Thanks for that. :) I have no idea about the past tense of portal; I did the best I could with half-remembered spelling rules from 5th and 6th grade. I didn't double the 'l' because the emphasis was on the first syllable, as opposed to something like 'occurred.' I could, however, be completely off my rocker.

It's always easier to spot other people's mistakes than your own - if it's your own your brain reads what you meant to write rather than what you actually wrote. And I'll happily keep pointing out errors should I spot any. :)

The spelling rule, in British English at least, is that words ending in L double it in the past tense. Happens with other letters too, like the P in worship. A lot of the time American English seems to stick with just the single letter. Google's only got a few relevant hits before it descends into what looks like Portuguese to me, so I'm guessing in this case it has to be double-L. (I'd be totally lost without google.)

That was quite enjoyable, even though I don't really know the continuum. Samuel is intriguing. I shall follow him and Katrina with great interest.

As to length, my latest got onto its thirtieth page in OpenOffice before it was done. It happens. ^_^;

Wow... thirty pages? Really? x.X Was it a monster of a fic, or just really, really detailed?

I've resigned myself to the fact that almost no one I know is familiar with the Tales series. At least it's readable even if you don't know them, which is good. That's what I was aiming for. ^_^

The first half deals with the ridiculous story and its many offenses. The second half deals with the charging and killing of the perpetrators of said offenses, which doesn't really go very well. I'm posting it shortly after I get it back from Artic Blade, so you'll see what I mean. {= )

I've heard of Tales through friends, so some of the names were familiar, but that's about it. ^_^;

Sometimes they're long, can't help it. Quite a few of TOS' missions were even longer than that blighter. It's nicely written though, great job for your first mission. Keep at it and yours is gonna be a very enjoyable spinoff to read.
