Yup. New. Came into knowledge of the PPC when a friend kept talking about conversations between a Sith and a Cardassian. Needless to say I was curious and have been hovering around the PPC wiki for a while now reading up when possible. Still at it too.
But what drove me to make this post and make myself known and support the PPC? I read a certain Stufic known as Halo: Halos in Space and after my eyes stoped bleeding I swore to myself I that I couldn't just stand by while people butcher my favorite subjects and the English language I love so much.
So here I am, casting my die in to kill the Badfic and send those who write them scampering back to their 6th grade English classes.
welcome ot the ppc. sorry i can;t say more, but brain tired.
So, what fandoms?
and have a combat spork and a weasel plushie
*from other post* Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate SG-1/Atlantis, Halo, Fable (beat that game 300 times i should know it), Marvel (to an extent), DC (To the same Extent), LotR (but not as much as most people o.O), DB/Z/GT (yes... is sad... but its been along time i've forgotten things!) Bleach, Code Geass, Gundam (Seed, Wing, Mobile Fighter G, and Mobile Suit mostly). lets see others i can think of. Red Faction, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, some final fantasy, but I'm certainly not a fanboy. Quake and Doom, Tribes (a tad), thats about it i think.
also
SPORK... COMBAT... ITS A SPORK OF POWAH!
Here, have a Shadow Spork. They're really sharp and they appear when places get underdefined. Really underdefined.
Soooooo...nice to have you onboard for the ride. It's going to be an insane, bumpy one. Hold on to yer Bleeprin.
Insanity is quite normal for me. I live by the saying "No one is sane lest they know when to be insane at proper times."
Have a ypur. 'S a yak, but it's slightly smaller and has huge spiky horns. Oh, and it's blue. :D
Sounds like having the thing run up to you would be a tad painful...
I gift you with...an egg whisk! It's shiny, gold-plated, and whisks not only eggs, but spambots and author wraiths! Use it for good and not evil. Oh, and I'll throw in a bar of good Belgian chocolate. Just because. *grin*
Welcome to the insanity!
I think i'm gonna need a TARDIS to keep all these things O.O
TARDISes have become pretty standard equipment, so you're in luck! That is, of course, if you knock down the Fourth Wall and do a tribal war dance on it while painted blue. *nodnod*
*amusedly sees a 'realistic adaptation' of that* Heh... Bolians in loincloths with sledgehammers demolishing a house... Good thing i know what the fourth wall is though.
Do i really have to do it I'm out of war paint and my Fourth Wall breaking skill came up a 2 when i rolled the D20.
'In case of rolling a 2, please find the PPC Orchestra.' They've broken enough walls, and that's even before they've touched their instruments.
Do i have too? Can't I just pay someone exuberant amounts of money?
We have an orchestra? *looks interested*
Probably because the agents are too worn out or on missions too often to practice together.
...if this friend of yours is known about the internets as Rilwen Shadowflame.
Her Agent is Sith.
Mine's Cardassian.
We were roleplaying over MSN Messenger. It became quite deranged at times.
This may or may not be the cause. If it is, well... *tips her Hat* Hello there. ;)
But ah, you have initiative. Well and good. I give you chocolate, a Tribble, and a large amount of assorted Bleep-products.
I want to see this avatar. xD
I'm tous-les-mondes-possibles@hotmail.com if you ever want to talk on MSN, by the by.
Don't feed the tribble too much, now. That's the last thing HQ needs at the moment.
So. I'm guessing you're another Trek fan... favourite series? Character?
Yupper does. Trek fan... my listing of how i like my series/movies is somewhere in a reply but as for characters... varies from series to series.
Don't eat it, though; might be sentient. Like tribbles.
Welcome! I see the others have already given you most of what you need to know, so I'll just wave my little "Join the DMS!" flag, offer a purely-plaontic-but-nonetheless-freaky hug, direct you to the Fountain of Bleepka and scuttle off.
Also, 'tis great to see another Star Trek fan! Which of the series do you like? Personally, I can't stand the original Kirk series or the newest Enterprise one, but I love TNG, DS9 and Voyager. You?
DS9, Voyager, TNG, The TNG Movies, TOS Movies, Enterprise, TOS. Yes, i know its odd, but the movies about the original crew seem better than the show. Maybe because they weren't using crappy props anymore? Enterprise is higher than TOS cause its pretty... messes with the Canon I think though. I 'like' it about as much as I 'like' The Force Unleashed being Canon -_- but hey, its Lucas' world he wants to muck that up he can. The Original Series though was just... well... at the time i can assume it was cool but now it just seems silly... [sing] Bounce the forward particle beam of the main deflector dish. Thats the way We do things men, we make up things as we wish...[/sing]
I'm not sure what Division i wanna be a part of though...
SWEET ZOMBIFIED Q ONNA WAFFLE CONE, someone else who knows "The USS Make Shit Up!"
*delighted* May I offer you some extra chocolate?
But I want to! *looks pitiful with Big Puss-In-Boots Eyes*
I could never watch TOS; there were two episodes in the special features of the Voyager DVDs, and I watched them once, in part laughing hysterically, in part shaking my head in pain. Never saw the movies, and don't plan to.
The TNG movies... are okay. I like the series better. I HATED Nemesis. And I hate that TOS and TNG have multiple movies while DS9 and Voygaer haven't had ANY. But that's an old complaint and I'll shut up now...
...an extremely hilarious (though mildly inappropriate) song by a most wonderful artist by the name of Voltaire.
Though not to be confused with the witty dead Frenchman of similar title, he is equally awesome. I've seen him perform live twice to date. ^_^
Anyway, I can probably send you the song if you've got MSN Messenger or AIM- file transfers and all that, if you can take mp3 or mp4 files. Or you could look it up on YouTube.
Suffice to say it's based on Trek's tendency to get out of certain doom with large amounts of technical jargon that somehow explain everything. (Geordi's quite good at it.) With added pokes to all the series, but it's quite funny.
TNG is probably my favorite series, though DS9 and Voyager are cool. I could go on and on, but shall cease taking up space.
(Oh, and I'm tous-les-mondes-possibles@hotmail.com if you ever want to talk on MSN.)
I've added you on MSN - I'm fanwriter_sedri@hotmail.com. mp3 is fine, though you might just want to do it by emiail, as I'm not sure we'll ever be online at the same time - time zones and all that.
Do you know there are a few books out that try to rationalise the science of Star Trek? They're not bad; it's fun to try and make logic out of fantasy. For instance, Vulcans and Romulans have green blood, right? Well, the book rationalises that since ou blood is red due to the iron oxidising, then Vulcans must have copper-based blood, since copper turns green when in contact with oxygen.
Of course, that completely kills the logic of an early TNG episode (can't remember the name) in which a Romulan's life can only be saved if Worf agrees to donate some bit of biology, because a body that depends on copper-based blood would probably have a hell of a lot more problems trying to work with something used to iron-based blood, but that's just babble.
I like Geordi's tech babble, though. And B'Elanna's. The song sounds like fun - I look forward to it!
(And I, too, will now cease taking up so much space.)
I've read one of those books- the title was "Life Signs: The Biology Of Star Trek." I found it on my school library shelf and my inner nerd started turning somersaults of sheer glee.
Writers do have a tendency to slip up. For instance, they implied that Voyager's EMH could reproduce. The lines weren't integral to the plot in any way, but:
The Doctor has learned to experience emotion and is technically solid, thus enabling him to pursue the... attendant pursuits of some emotions, but how on earth could a hologram have gametes or other forms of viable genetic information? And even if they could, why? (On second thought... I don't particularly want the "why" bit answered.)
I'll email you the song. :)
I read the biology one once, but before that I bought and devoured "The Physics of Star Trek", which was somewhat more interesting.
The Doc... as a father. No. We saw what happened when he created a holographic family - that was enough. Then again, he's grown up since then.
If you want to be technical, though, he could use Lewis Zimmerman's DNA - provided Lewis lets him - as they are identical in appearance, at least. Going into the differences would start long discussions on consciousness, experience and souls, which is too much for me at the moment - I'm hungry. ;)
Why yes, yes you can offer me more chocolate. Chocolate is like fire, one can never have enough of it.
I'm no longer the newest newbie!! Welcome to the Nuthouse; be mindful of all the pyromania, magic, and just plain madness. It wouldn't be good to have an agent fall into a wormhole on their first day. :D
We do have a fair few plotholes though. They're fun. Mostly used for transportation and pulling random things, or Agents, from.
There are wormholes in the PPC O.o Know anywhere where i can find something that monitors subspace? I wanna be prepared...
Welcome to the place where reality and sanity hold no sway. Welcome to the place where "laws of nature" are a funny joke you tell your friends. Welcome to where badfic dies. Welcome... to the PPC. The Division of More Dakka issues you a refractor field, suitable defense against any attacks your chosen fandoms may unleash against you.
Sweet! How strong is it exactly? :3
It can deflect any attack-depends on how good your die roll is. :D Failing that, the Division of More Dakka will issue you ordnance, if you are a more proactive problem solver.
Got anything that fires 12.7x40mm Semi-Armor-Piercing High-Explosive rounds? Like the M6D? If so I'll take one, gift wrapped with spare ammo please. Oh, and Can I use Incendiary Grenades? Fire solves everything. *bats eyes*
Young man/lady/unidentified being, you have come to the right place, as you definitely appear to appreciate more dakka. The Division hereby issues you a bolter, optimized for use by unaugmented humans. The bolter is similar in concept to the weapon you specified with two main differences-its rounds are about twice the size you requested, and the bolter is capable of single shot, burst, and fully automatic firing modes.
In place of your request for incendiary grenades, the Division of More Dakka also issues you sufficient magazines of Inferno-pattern incendiary bolter shells.
Wow, and my Birthday isn't even for 6 more days! Though admittedly I prefer semi auto weapons. If I can't kill it without turning it into swish cheese, I shouldn't be shooting at it... or its a wall. *tries to imagine something twice the size of a 50 caliber round*
... *drools*
anyway... tell me more of this Division of More Dakka. I don't recall seeing anything about it on the wiki, I know what 'More Dakka' is *amusingly remembers that image of the Orc with several machine guns and ammo belts* But it either doesn't have a page on the wiki or my eyes were still bleeding from that Halo fic... or it 'doesn't exist' ;)
But it will at some point, with the veterans' blessing-it is the tentative name for the Warhammer 40,000 badfic department. The picture at Tvtropes with the Ork machine guns is from WH40k.
Ah 40K. I personally know little about it but the Imperial and Chaos ships look exceedingly pimptastic. There's just something about the concept of a Giant Flying Space Cathedral that I find alluring... Especially with guns.
From Tvtropes, which you're obviously familiar with:
Power Fist: trope namer.
Death World: trope namer.
More Dakka: trope namer.
Drop the Hammer: partial trope namer.
Almost every other trope: taken up to an eleven, painted black, covered in skulls, and armed with a chainsword.
Seriously-read its page. It's a fun read, even if you aren't familiar with the setting.
*blinks at the More Dakka Trope* well... damn...
Will your Agents be based in a TARDIS or a Response Center?
While the idea of a TARDIS sounds utterly awesome. I wouldn't mind at all having just a Response Center *ponders* RC or a a TARDIS... TARDIS has more room and I foresee souvenirs... lots of them.
Welcome! I give you...a coxcomb. It's a funny sort of hat.
Like the one Jayne wore in Firefly? If so Awesome, if not, I'll put it somewhere >.>
But just as silly-looking.
Aww i always wanted Jayne's hat of pimposcity... or was it Jayne's hat of Awesome? I forget.
..I mean welcome! I said welcome!
*gives you a radioactive iguana, a ferret cosy, and a box of eye-shaped chocolates*
Have fun~
*wanders off, singing under his breath*
What am i gonna do with a Radioactive Iguana? Feed Sues to it?
You feed Suethors to it! And the occasional dose of plutonium, uranium and kryptonite!
I will? :p
I'll be sure to carry some with me at all times then.
Hello new person, have some lembas :)
Sweet I've always wanted to try some ^^ one thing off me list of things to do.
...'cept for the fact it's, y'know, the Internet. Therefore, no faces unless you're doing something fancy like Skype. :P
Eyes bleeding, really? That's a new reaction. I don't think I've ever had that one in response to badfic. Sure, I've had the urge to gouge my eyes out with a spork, but...
So, and forgive me if someone else asked this question, what fandoms are you most familiar with?
(Be warned: if you like some of the more obscure ones that I like, you will earn yourself a slightly deranged/hyperactive stalker. =3)
Oh yeah, and have a pointe shoe. : ) Good for causing minor concussions. Maybe moderate. :O
Hopefully they (we) won't drive you too nutty.
Fandoms... Fandoms... Less see here.
Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate SG-1/Atlantis, Halo, Fable (beat that game 300 times i should know it), Marvel (to an extent), DC (To the same Extent), LotR (but not as much as most people o.O), DB/Z/GT (yes... is sad... but its been along time i've forgoten things!) Bleach, Code Geass, Gundam (Seed, Wing, Mobile Fighter G, and Mobile Suit mostly). There are others I'm possitive but its 4:15 and I want to sleep *snores*
I gift you with your first load of Bleepolate! And also this bag of marbles that may or may not belong to someone here!
Thanks ^^ I could have used that Bleepolate when i stumbled into that Halo Badfic but better late than never. As for the Marbles. Sweet, I had lost my marbles... and I can use some of those big enough for new eyes since mine are now permanently damaged!
You don't get shiny links since I know you're Rilwen's and have already got the shiny links.
