Worst choice of character name ever?
I've read plenty of good fiction as well as A LOT of bad fiction, and while this is terrible, it's terrible in a sort of "so god awful I couldn't help but be entertained" way.
That's not to say the writer shouldn't still be tied to a mast and flogged for writing it.
She announces in the author's notes that she didn't know the connotations of the character's name until "after I had grown attached to it", and so she still used it. *sigh*
Admittedly the heroine of the OFUR, which I write, is named after a murderess and I didn't realise such until after we'd published the first few chapters, but there must be lots of people called "Susan Smith", so that's not a big deal. (Could have been worse - "Mary Ann Cotton", or "Lizzie Borden".)

There are certain things that make for bad inspiration. Dreams are usually on that list. This would be another thing.
I'm just glad it doesn't seem to have anything to do with PotO. Though I only looked at the first chapter.

Why is it that they can make the author's notes look halfway decent, upping our hopes, only to dash them with the first lines of the story?
