Seattle sounds good.
We need to have one. (Or maybe more than one, since it's a rather large country and it has horrible public transportation.) It's not fair that our friends across the ocean have all the fun. So, let's figure out where everyone is and start organizing something.
I'm in New Hampshire.
Why is everybody East Coast. D: This makes me sad that I moved -- as does the thunderstorm currently going on in Boston.
Bay Area here.
and I can drive wherever this summer.
I seem to be the sole Utahn thus far, and I'm more-or-less limited to Salt Lake City for the next many moons, so it's likely I would be unable to attend, but it seems an interesting idea.
One for the northwest, one for... wherever the second concentration is, somewhere in the middle, and one for New England? New York actually sounds pretty good from here.
Maybe one for New York and one for DC, even?
...my parents would NEVER let me out of town...hell, I don't think they'd let me go at all, even if it were in my (boring) town...protective parents and all that. To them, you're all (and I quote) "55-year-old truck drivers who would prey on a girl like you".
*le sigh*
That's funny, last time I checked I was a jobless female.
Ah well, totally understand where you're coming from. Been there myself.
Hopefully we can work something out to everyone's satisfaction.
Helen
I like the idea of three (or more if that's feasible). I'd definitely try to go to a NW gathering, particularly if it were in Seattle, as was suggested earlier.
Depends on where in the city, though. Preferably Manhattan.
But there is always the problem of Psycho Parents...
I've got summer classes until August 8th or so, following which I plan to head down to the NYC area until class starts again in the fall.
Also, I deny the fact that Boston exists and I refuse to travel there.
Especially with a vehicle.
A Californian here, too. :P
I do think my parents would freak if I went to a Gathering.
Why didn't I bother to reread that... I meant my parents, in the last bit. *head, meet laptop. I'm glad you're already acquainted...*
North or South?
Are you my cousin? o.0 'Cos that's basically my cousin. yeah. -_-;;;
Meeting my cousin online, I mean. Err... no offence meant.
And no offense taken, because I would be really creeped out if you were my cousin too. But then I would know you were my cousin, so not so weird. But then I would be all freaked out that you would tell my parents...xD
Let's check, then. Are you coming to NYC very soon? 'Cos if not, you're not my cousin. xD
Unless my parents are planning to take me on a suprise trip to NYC, which I doubt.
So I guess this means we're not related?
Thank Glod for that. I would be scurrying around trying to hide everything from you...xD
I'm in Minnesota for most of the summer, but I'll be starting college in Northampton, Massachusetts in late August.
But convincing my mom, who doesn't even know I frequent forums and such, to let me go would be hell.
Still, if I can attend and there is one I'll do my very very best to go. 'm afraid I can't travel though. At least, not for several years.
C
*The dates are, um, are, um... arriving July 16 and leaving August 8, I think. So anything inbetween those could be attendableish.
Me and Chavert both live near Washington DC, although it seems like not a lot of others do. :(
I live about an hour from DC, in Frederick, MD. Here's my vote.
I'm in Wisconsin, and my car status is uncertain for any given part of the year, though it is becoming more likely. I do bemoan the condition of the public transportation quite often.
...or, rather, New York City. The real Big Wahoonie.
Anyway. Uh. My parents would freak out, I think, so yeah. And going to anywhere out of state is totally out of the question because they're all RAH GAS MILEAGE MY AGE MAKES ME DIFFICULT and stuff. xD
Let's go sailing!
Oh, well. Hopefully they'll write up a proper Report and we'll get to envy all the fun that they have.
*hates being underage and unable to travel*
Seattle sounds good.
Seattle! Because the Northwest rocks! (Even though it rains a lot here).
I've noticed that the most likely location for an American Gathering would be up in New England; I know for sure that there are several PPCers who are or will be centered around Boston.
I myself am in West Texas. D:
Don't know if I'd be able to make it, though. I vote for Washington DC, just because it's close by it has a lot of museums/touristy stuff/things to laugh at.
you can freak out a lot of tourists with crazy stuff. I've seen some interesting things in DC.
my parents probably won't allow me to go if it is far away, AKA outside of the Chicago area. *sigh* I would love to go though.
~Zoe~
I'm in Vermont. But I can't travel after the 7th. Will probably not go. Great idea, though.
Sounds like fun. Count me in, hopefully!
I'm in New Jersey.
From Connecticut, here, and open on any day except Saturday, and willing to travel a fair distance.
Who else is around here? Any suggestions on where, when?
But elsewhere is fine.
As for when...I'm free most of July and August.
