Erm...well hi. I've recently become addicted to the PPC, starting of course with the wonderful founders' stories.
So, mostly I just wanted to say hi and stop lurking so that I could actually meet you wonderful people!
I haven't laughed this hard since the first time I watched Life of Brian. Thanks for that!
So, yeah, that's about it.

It's like a pocketknife, just better disguised. Of course, beware that someone might try to eat it.

Why thank you, Sedri. Unfortunately I'll probably be that someone who tries to eat it. Except, I've never been fond of turnips, so hopefully I'm safe.

I gift you with an egg whisk--it's shiny, gold-plated, and, hey, it whisks eggs! Use it for good and not evil.

Have some Xanth cherries and punch. Careful, most of the cherries explode and the punch does violently, so don't use them around people you like. Ahlen wa sahlen, and welcome!

Useful stuff, just don't let your mind wander when you use it. Do you have any interest in contributing to the PPC?

Oh, definitely. But not for a while I think and not till someone 'In Charge' has cleared it. I'm the kind of person who never does anything without absolute permission.
Do you contribute? -

I'm still working on my first mission, but...yeah. Department of Implausible Crossovers. I'm sure July or Cassie has/will provide you with info for permission-asking. Suffice to say, you have to wait a month anyhow.

Oh, that's perfect then. I won't have internet access until about mid-August anyways, so I guess it's a moot point.
One question, though (and anyone can answer): Do you have to ask permission to be a beta reader? If not, how do you go about letting people know that you have beta services to offer? Do you just post on this board?

There's a section of the wiki about beta readers. http://ppcwiki.wikilot.com/wiki/PPCBetaReader_Directory
Just put your name in. (The wiki has lots of other useful information, so definitely look around!) -

I'm interested in the Tamora Pierce continuum, Jane Austen (I didn't believe it, but they've got their own share of bad fic) and I'll do anything else really, as long as I know the book/movie/tv show.
But I think I'll wait around a bit just to see how everyone else is doing it. Don't want to make any mistakes, right.
And thanks for the gift. I will treasure it forever (I'd do one of those smiley faces here, but I still haven't figured out how).

Oh, Tamora Pierce? I've searched through the Pit of Voles and I've seen lot of crossovers. *shudders*
Of course, one of the main things you learn in the PPC: everything has badfic. D: -

It's funny, I can understand the urge to write fanfic, but some of the stuff out there is so...I don't know, ludicrously, mind blowing-ly bad, it kind of defies imagination.
And, yeah, bad crossovers...Tamora Pierce's fanfic has way too much of it (as well as some pretty awful Mary Sues). -

The Official Fanfiction University of Middle-Earth. I found it...somewhere, I don't remember now, and checked out Miss Cam's (the author) website, where the PPC stories are archived. Things sort of went from there.

I randomly found a link to the PPC portion of Miss Cam's website, through a Mary Sue Litmus Test website (I take them for fun; I suppose that says something about me). I think I ended spending all night reading Jay and Acacia's stories. Then, of course, I had to find all the other stories, too.
