I can't remember where I read it, but I get the impression that sometimes the Sorters mislabel things?

I'm thinking that one was basically an intruder to Hobbit-town was being judged as a potential goodfic. I can't remember if it was Intel or Despatch.

Another goodfic was a Stargate Atlantis Mpreg.

This one is a badfic. Specifically a clumsily-written anti-sue where the author's notes claim that she's not a self-insert, but it gets sent to Despatch anyway. The anti-sue is more of a bit who would be perfect for an OFU.

I'm assuming that there's some sort of procedure where the Agents phone upstairs and/or the Sorters, they run through a basic checklist to make sure it really is a misfile and not the Agnets being mistaken or abusing the privilege for some extra vacation time, then the mission is pulled back and sent to the appropriate Department.

I'm also assuming this procedure is never actually what happens.

Due to incessant beeping, I'm sure the Agents in question have to suck it up and deal with something outside their comfort zone, likely with hilarious results.

The scenario I'm working with is that they read the first Author's note, say that they have to assume that it's a real person anyway because they got it. Then they get over halfway through the fic and read a new author's note that really confirms that the Sorters didn't read the author's notes, plus a lot of other evidence, and just proceed as normal because the fallout is not their problem. They're working with a (not sure what her classification would actually be) former Sue that was assumed to be a real person.

Basically since they aren't assassins, they can't make the judgement call whether to kill her or try to recruit her.

I'm working with Selfishness, which has a good chargelist regardless of whether or not she's a Sue, Self-Insert, or a Bit.
