Regarding Gul's military service: I sort of assumed that even turians have military positions that don't deal with front-line combat- they'd have to, to prevent the whole thing from falling apart. Since Gul is comparatively weak (and got top grades) I sort of thought that while he certainly did serve in the military, it was at a desk job. An interpreter was the single most innocuous thing I could think of him doing, for contrast, although he could easily have been involved in the turian intelligence apparatus (such as it is) at a relatively high level.

You're right about the biotics, though. More importantly because that ability adds precious little to his character by existing even if I could make it make sense (some kind of anomaly where his biotics developed late in his life, amp damaged in whatever explosion messed up his face, etc.)

And Teron exists primarily because Gul has a skills vacuum that neither he nor Rel can easily fill. Since I thought of co-writing this, the other author could easily take her over, although she might also die early on or something to convince Rillek to reach out to Sheperd. I don't know, I didn't spend much time on her and I probably should have spent more.

And yes. Do read RR and the Cerberus Files- they are both truly awesome.
