*is nearly too distracted by shiny thing to give you a return gift of Bleep'n'ms* Oh! Here, enjoy!
After reading lots and lots of stuff about you guys, I thought it was high time to introduce myself...
So: I'm Khaosity, my fandoms are Harry Potter, LotR, Discworld, Angel Sanctuary, several other animes/mangas and... I think that's it! I also like the Recluce series, but the author (L.E. Modesitt, Jr.) has requested there not be fanfiction until he's finished with it. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be happy or sad about this :)
Yeah, um... Hi!
Oh, no! You commented on my newbie thread, and I did not do so on yours, even though it was still up? I MUST RECTIFY THAT THIS INSTANT! Oh, wait, I already am. Excellent!
Let's see... gifts, gifts... (rummages) Aha! Here you go! Have a scaled-down Schrödinger's Bear! It could be a travel-sized version of any kind of bear in the multiverse, grizzly, armored, Talking, etcetera, just as long as you don't look inside its box! (I put air holes in the box, though; I'm not a monster. Don't look through those, or its quantum waveform will collapse and it'll manifest as a single bear, which will ruin the effect.)
No problem! We newbies gotta stick together, right? Here, have some more Bleep'n'ms in return for your wonderful gift! Good of you to poke airholes in the box, as not doing so tends to quickly solve the alive/dead question about Schrödinger's animals :-)
Yello! We're glad to have you on the Board! Please have this complimentary Fluffy Wambler! He's native to the Dwarf Fortress continuum, but soft and lovable in any world!
Ooh, I remember Angel Sanctuary- especially the art. I can't remember the plot terribly well, though, and that's more important for PPC purposes. Speaking of manga, have you ever read Hot Gimmick? That one seems like it would probably spawn a badfic or two.
Anyway, see you around the Board!
In return, have some Bleep'n'ms!
Haven't read Hot Gimmick, will look it up though.
Angel Sanctuary is very awesome, you could probably reread it on a scanlation site if you feel like it. The fanfic for it is pretty weird, though. No 'Sues that I can remember (a couple good OCs, though), but oh is there ever so much slash. About three quarters of the stories involve at least one slash pairing. Not that I have a problem with that, in fact I ship Rosiel/Katan, if you remember who they are. My problem is with the PWP stuff, but then, I'm the sort of person who reads romance novels for the plot (and is often sorely disappointed).
The name's Dark Lord Aakmal. Have you read the Silmarillion? Haven't read LOTR, didn't have the money. As per tradition, I present to you this virtual mortar and pestle. Effective range up to 1.6 km, the pestle provided will spray the Sue with spices, preparing her enough for a meal with the orcs. The Sue being the main course, of course. Don't hit the pestle with the mortar though, you may be spiced instead.
As for the author requesting no fanfics until she finished with the series, I think that is a good idea. You know how often speculations fall short, rendering the fic uncanonical.
The Silmarillion is my favorite Tolkien book! Many people think this is weird, because they think it's boring... I don't understand them. I probably should have listed Ardaverse as a whole in my favorites, instead of just LotR...
Free food for Orcs! Yay! Poor things, at least they can nom on some delicious(?) 'Sue now! And you can nom on these Bleep'n'ms!
Yeah, the no fanfic thing makes a lot of sense for the series in question, since the author jumps all over an internal time line of about 2000 years. He(!) also constantly redefines the magic system, because said magic is very much an individual thing for each user (e.g. one mage can read people's feelings while another has a hard time telling if someone is lying to him). These things could prove disastrous if Suethors and their ilk get their hands on them.
Welcome to the PPC! Your gift . . .
*rummages through Pokemon-verse bag of holding for something appropriate*
. . . is a Smoke Ball! Used for escaping from wild Pokemon, it is also perfect for playing ninja! A must for any Naruto fan! (I hope...)
Now I can escape from embarassing situations! Yay! Free Bleep'n'ms for you!
Oh man, I thought I greeted you earlier. This mistake must be corrected and compensated for immediately! Have a belt made with a thin chain of mithril. It does not do much other than look cool, but hey, what more is needed?
Yay, shinies! Bleep'n'ms for you! They don't look as cool, but they're highly NOMable! (I hereby declare that NOMable is indeed a word)
Welcome, welcome. I see we share a fandom, and semi-share a couple of others. I love Lord of the Rings, and have liked all of the Discworld series I've been able to read, but it's been a while for those. I'm also a big fan of anime/manga though, love Naruto, (I even cosplay Haku!) and really liked what I've read of Vampire Knight. Funds have prevented me from going further with both of them though.
I have a good friend who absolutely LOVES Angel Sanctuary so I've seen a little of that too! I've not had the chance to see Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, either though. *goes to look that up*
Welcome gifts! I almost forgot! XD I'd like to present you with a set of my limited edition Atlantian sponge capsule sets. Just add water and you'll get a full sized sponge city with architectural design styles of your whim! And also a pair of radish earrings. :)
Shame there isn't a full anime, though :( The OVA only covers the first arc (of six), and leaves out a lot of stuff as well. Naruto - there I have the luck that my mom reads and watches it, and tells me what happens. She got my dad hooked on it, too. (Yes, my parents are geeks. Yes, this is awesome.) Watch the Abridged Series (of Naruto), if you haven't already. It's very funny.
Thank you for the sponge city and the earrings, and have some Bleep'n'ms!
She never got me far enough into the series to discover that. And maybe that was why, she knew there wasn't much of it, so she just showed me a couple episodes so I could see what it was all about! :D
That's awesome! My parents aren't into anime, but they love Spongebob XD I love Naruto, I'll have to check that out, although we did get pretty far in to Shippuden, so I don't know that it'll be new stuff XD
Mmmmm! Thank you for the Bleep'n'ms!
...unless you already knew that?
Sadly, there are only three episodes in the Angel Sanctuary OVA. They cover the first three and a quarter books...of twenty. Also, as I said, they left out a lot of stuff - probably about half the third book. You could try reading the manga on a scanlation site. Tell me when you're done :-)
I had a weird, but awesome, childhood. I started playing "serious" computer games when I was five, started watching Sailor Moon at six (other animes when they came out), read Harry Potter as soon as it came out, The Hobbit at nine or ten, LotR at eleven and the Silmarillion soon afterwards. Can't remember when I watched the original Star Wars, but I think I was about six or seven. Fun fact: I am now 22 and have yet to watch a single episode of Dr. Who. I do know the barest facts about it, though. (the Doctor is a Time Lord, the machine he uses is called a TARDIS, it looks like a police box, it's blue, Daleks go "EXTERMINATE!")
Welcome to the Board. Have a bag of pebbles and a Random Shiny Object. :)
*is nearly too distracted by shiny thing to give you a return gift of Bleep'n'ms* Oh! Here, enjoy!
Have some nails and a voodoo doll. I don't know if they work or not.
Have some Bleep'n'ms, which should work! Will test the voodoo doll on the nasty person who woke me up at four in the morning! (banging on the door, shouting for some guy... *grumble*)
Welcome to the PPC! We love newbies here, so sit down and make yourself at home!
As a welcome gift, have some Ligeti: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geDe03A9CRY
Thank you! Unfortunately, my phone/only source of internet does not let me watch online videos. I appreciate the gift anyway and will look at it as soon as I can get on a computer. Have some Bleep'n'ms, which don't depend on silly phones!
Greetings, new friend!
Have a suit of bio-containment armor!
Have some Bleep'n'ms!
Have a gift from teh Specs:
A Starter Bow!
Good for target practice during down-time!
Here, have some Bleep'n'ms in return!
Glad to have you! In my tradition of giving newbies dangerous new toys, here for you I have an Urple lightsaber and a crate of M26 frag grenades! Have fun!
Thank you muchly! I like exploding things! The urple lightsaber is nice, too... *plays around with it while trying not to look at its urpleness* Oops, nearly decapitated myself there! *lightsaber is put away*
Oh, here, some Bleep'n'ms for you!
Have a cookie? :)
And have some Bleep'n'ms!
Have some Klatchen coffee, perfect for those moments when your insane mission partner poisons you with scumble.
Thanks! Have some Bleep'n'ms!
Hello, Khaosity! I be KittyNoodles, and as a welcome present I have placed a bow of bleepnerds and an Odd Container in your inventory!
Odd Container
Item Level 1
Chance on Opening: Receive one shower of confetti or one huggle - your choice.
[This container is perfectly spherical and appears to be fashioned from glite-painted wood. Its weight changes at odd intervals, and you can't shake the feeling opening this container may prove hazardous to your health if you aren't careful.]
(Ignore the last bit there, the flavor text hates me.)
Thank you! In return, I have placed some Bleep'n'ms [and/or NMs'n'NMs ;-)] in YOUR inventory!
*opens Odd Container*
Why did that confetti just try to hug me?
Welcome to the Board! Have some of my hydrophobic water to commemorate the event. The new-and-improved formula reaches its critical point at room temperatures!
(Phew, long title.)
Since you've already read the Constitution, TOS and some missions, I can only give you this cup of tea (don't let the leaves eat you) and ask: what're your animu and mango fandoms? Have you watched Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha?
...and eat my annoying neighbor* - I just wish-
Thanks for the tea anyway, and have some Bleep'n'ms.
To answer your questions, my other animu/mango (love that!) fandoms are Count Cain/GodChild, Naruto, Vampire Knight, Shugo Chara, Aoi no Exorcist (sp?) and Rosario+Vampire (believe me, the manga is much better than the anime).
I haven't seen Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and I can't, because the only internet I have is that on my phone, which will not let me watch videos and gets weird with manga sites (stupid thing). I will look it up next time I visit my parents though, it sounds interesting.
Omg I don't think I've ever met anyone else who likes that series, online or off. Though maybe I just haven't asked enough...?
The only other person I know who likes it is my best friend... But as she's German (as am I) her English is a bit iffy, so she's unlikely to join the PPC. (Having American parents who also lived in England is fun when living in Germany :D)
Welcome to the Board! I'm DawnFire, as you can tell from the author tag...looks like we share three fandoms (HP, LotR, and Discworld), which is always a good thing. I'll kick off the gift-giving ceremony by presenting you with a large bar of Swiss Bleepolate, a necessity for badfic exploration. This Bleeproduct distracts the mind with sugar while working quickly to dull the horrific details it has just witnessed. May it serve you well.
Are you planning on writing missions?
And, another standard question (this one just to make sure): you've read the Constitution and the Original Series, yes? From what you said, it seems likely, but we like to know :)
Once more, welcome! Glad you decided to say hi!
~DawnFire
Thanks ever so muchly for the Bleepolate! Have some Bleep'n'ms yourself! (Bleeprin and m'n'ms... If someone else hasn't invented them already)
I have indeed read the constitution...and the Original Series...and everything else in Lost Tales. Also, I have read pretty much everything on Huinesoron's Webplex (the Histories, DOGA, etc). Oh... OFUM and HFA as well. I loved all of it. Anything else you could direct me to (there's probably lots)?
Missions... Maybe sometime in the future, when I'm not such a shiny new newbie
... And Red Dwarf is also amongst my fandoms. Can't believe I forgot.
