Would anyone like to kill the fic that adds in something called Sylvari, apparently from a continuum called Guild Wars, forces Treebeard out of character, has a Sue
called Ceres who is speshul, in-jokes that make no sense, etc. And this is from the first two chapters. It's called Wild Growth and it's on the Pit.
... Then I'd say it counts as a crossover, wouldn't you?
The author's note makes me think that the kid should know better. For one thing, they can spell.
The author thinks that it shouldn't be marked as a crossover, despite adding a species, names, and characters from Guild Wars.
What is this sort of crossover called? Full co-habitation? I think it could be that.
And specific, for that matter. If I have a character refer to an off-screen train named Thomas, that doesn't mean it's a crossover with Thomas the Tank Engine.
On a side note, saying someone 'should know better' is another way of saying they don't; that means it's bordering on a personal attack of sorts, which obviously we don't do. ;) It can be a pain at times, but that's how it goes.

It's one thing if the series references something in another fandom, but this one seems to have adopted a chunk of worldbuilding.
Ah, sorry. What I suppose should be said, in the more politically correct way, is that the suethor seems a bit different from our run-of-the-mill suefic writer: they have a good grasp of spelling and grammar, and possibly a beta reader.

It seems that no, it was not. Also, I stand corrected.
S'alright.
I have limited knowledge of Guild Wars, I'm just gonna go check if a Sylvari is what I think it is.
Er...how do you link something on this website?
