This whole story is my way of explaining the ufo craze. People report abductions by bipedal reptiles, and greys. Both are not very alien, and both are in the story. The pillbug and the Xrvillian are based off of two New Zeland sightings. Brain scans are my way of rationalizing why some advanced species would go through the effort of abducting humans. Also, this whole thing was meant to be a subtle way of pointing out how ridiculous the standard little green men are.

The 'aliens' are merely an expy of many stereotyped space monsters. Also, the ending was intended to be interpreted differently by various readers. In my version, the reptilians are merely bootlegging scans of human brains, and selling them elsewhere. I also would like to say good job for catching the bit about a smile. But I would like to say that I never stated that it was showing happiness.

"Not the greys!" Is a reference to the Greys of UFO sightings, as I may have already said. The Xrvillian is thinking about what the greys will do with humanity.

No, brain scans do not ensure our survival. Fridge horror.

Sorry if I rambled on, I'm recovering from illness, and the medicine is affecting my capacity for coherent thought.
