Female Sangheili are a good deal prettier than the males.
Somewhat inspired by the thread below, what PPC characters do you ship? What makes you think they work well together? Are they canon pairings, or is there no evidence outside of your head?
My choices:
I'm going to take a different approach to shipping. Instead of one type of relationship, I am going to look at four. This is Homestuck-style Quadrant Shipping.
Quadrant 1: Flushed - The one you already know about. Romantic Love.
Xericka/Gremlin - Go read this story and you will know why I ship it.
Quadrant 2: Pale - This one is interesting because it is really what every agent pair should be. Opposites that balance each other. Non-Romantic.
Suicide and Diocletian - She brings common sense to balance his suicidal tendencies. He brings down-to-Earth-iness to balance her Sueish tendencies. They know how to handle each other.
Quadrant 3: Ashen - A weak relationship based on strife or competition. The thing that makes this interesting is that there is a third partner, who mediates and keeps things from getting out of control. Non-romantic.
Nume/Jenni/Ilraen - Nume is a difficult person to be around. I know, shocker. Occasionally friction between him and Ilraen gets to a point where they need a mediator. Jenni is an insufferable busybody, which makes her perfect for that role. She keeps things from boiling over between the partners.
Quadrant 4: Caliginous - A pair who are attracted to each other despite severe dislike. Pretty foreign to most people. Romantic Hate.
Suicide/Nume - Read this mission and tell me they shouldn't just get a room. Also a popular choice in the Badfic Game.
There are more examples of each, of course. The PPC is practically built on Pale relationships. These are just a few that I like.
-Phobos, complicating simple things since 1986
Other than canon ships. Like Nesh said, I'm not usually looking for them. I do tend to notice them coming before the author reveals them, though. I guessed at Lee/Ian before it happened.
I guess I'm kind of leaning towards Laura Dukes/Danny Richardson? And I sort of thought Nathan/Ellipsia was going to be a thing, but EllipsisFlood seems to have left, which makes me sadface. :(
-Most, if not all, of these. As you said, reading (or writing, in my case) them gives you a whole new perspective. In particular, I totally ship Jay/Acacia Byrdtree, am convinced of Agent/Dis, and find Selene's unrequited feelings for Dafydd pretty convincing too.
-Alec/Verra (kippur's agents). There's something about the ADHD mage and his dragon wife that makes me smile.
-Isaiah/Quen (Araeph & NenyaQuende). Araeph's spinoff is the first really big one I remember, and may be the only long-running spinoff I've read in full (other than, uh, mine); I think they're really cute.
-Duros Black/Architeuthis. Yes, I know he's married, but come on - the DIA and Intel hung out together during Crashing Down, and I'm sure their lead agents got to spend a lot of time in each other's company. Ahem.
I'll stop there; that last one's already verging on 'my own stuff', and I've got way too many to go through. ^_~

I do love me some good shipping!
Ilraen and Zeb are getting along very nicely at the moment of my writing this. How that's going to be interpreted is up for everyone else. ;)
My favorite pair would have to be Librina Dafydd/Constance, because you just can't beat her going into the Halls of Mandos and demanding her boyfriend back. Best. Ship. Ever.
*hurries back to her shipyard*
Aside from that, however, the only other pairing that I can see as being sensible without gutting the PPC canon would probably be my own Cupid with eatpraylove's Violet, because the latter was paired with Pit when the former was still possessing him. It would therefore make sense to have the two of them try and restart the relationship the honest way, with all the interaction and character development such a prospect would entail.
Edhelistar and I have also discussed the possibility of a Cupid/Solvig pairing, but I believe that may have to wait until they interact in canon.
We were never quite sure whether it was canon or not, and it was glorious. ^^
Also Archer/Sabbat, which may be the only confirmed male gay couple to date. (Which is kinda weird.)
And yeah, I'm boring and ship the canon(ish) couples. I don't generally think much about who's going to end up with whom.
BTW, Nume is not really tsundere. He lacks the dere-dere side. He is all tsun-tsun. However, this ship amuses me and I support it, even if it will never, ever happen. ^^

And they are kind of adorable. I guess I categorize them more as an interspecies relationship than a gay relationship, since that would seem to present the more prominent challenges—to me, anyway. Mandibles, y'know.

It also doesn't help that the only mention of female elites I can recall in the entire Halo universe is one of the novels saying, "and the ladies stay on the home world." So they rather feel like a mono-gender race, anyway.

I'm not much for shipping, but it happens to me from time to time.
-Christianne Shieh and Eledhwen Elerossiel - the classic Will They or Won't They couple of the PPC (they are, apparently).
-Librina. Yes, they have a ship name. No, it's not canon. At all.
-TheShyIon x an actual shy ion because I cannot resist the pun. Sorry, Shy.
