It looks like it's going to be a Gaia-only thing, alas, but I gave it a trial run (i.e. I recreated Nume's avatar) and everything looks pretty good. There's no sort-by-color button, but you can use multiple search terms to look for stuff like "green glasses" or whatever. Plus, you can view the character in both genders and from all angles, both standing and kneeling, which is kinda cool.
If you want a Gaia-style avatar, but don't feel like making a Gaia account, I will take requests. Useful information includes hair color and style, eye color and shape, general expression, skin tone, clothes style/colors, additional stuff like glasses, jewelry, tattoos, scars, horns, wings, etc., and any potential handheld objects that symbolize what they're all about. I can't promise how quickly I'll be able to fulfill them—the next couple of weeks I know I'm going to be pretty busyand hopefully publishing some things—but I'll do my best. I like making these guys. ^_^

I find the UI on the Gaia version clunky and distasteful, and while I like the posing pics, I vastly preferred Tektek's use of buttons for the categories.
Also you can't have two of the same weapon WHAT IS EVEN THE HELL GAIA -

My browser hates Gaia, and it takes forever to load anything. And without being able to sort by color, it takes forever to go through the hair and eye options. It's nice to know there's a replacement, but it just doesn't work for me as well as Tektek did. I'll probably just stick with my anime-style images.
Although, it is nice to have my suspicions vindicated that Gaia was getting ready to come out with their own. Some research I did suggested that there were other issues between them and Tektek, but I'd bet that was one of the factors motivating the C&D. -

Hopefully this is the right link.
I note a slight difference in either eye or glasses placement on the male avatar, but otherwise all is well. I do agree with Scapegrace that this interface isn't as nice as TekTek's, but it works.
