Also...*rummages through closet*, have a...thing. It was never described properly, so the most it's ever settled on is that it's small enough to be held in one hand. Occasionally, it can be convinced to turn shiny, and then be used to distract unwantedly-homicidal partners.

Hello Jess (if you don't mind me calling you that, as I already know a Jessica, so this is less confusing for me). Do you have a family connection to Ireland? Any interesting traditions or stories? I know some of my paternal ancestors are probably from there in the C18th, but that's distant enough that there's no oral tradition or anything in the family.

As other Boarders have said, you don't have to work on Permission right away. We don't mind if you just enjoy the general craziness of the PPC for a while, and in fact it's encouraged to get to know people around here before you try for Permission.

I think you'll find that we're quite the friendly bunch. Some of us are also fans of Sherlock and Doctor Who, and I think there might even be some Irish folks around here somewhere. You'll have plenty of people to talk to, at any rate, and you might make some friends while you're at it.

That said, welcome a-Board!

Just hang around and get involved with the general insanity. Permission's not that important, if you don't plan on writing for the PPC.
