1) Insofar as this post this has been pretty unanimous, so certainly.
2) I'm all for Legendaries, but like I said earlier, Ubers and Legendary Megas can be a bit unfair.
3) Definitely for Megas, but again, I'd prefer we avoid any Uber Megas like Mega Gengar or Kangaskhan.
4) Definitely record them. Maybe also share links to ongoing battles in a thread and/or on the IRC so they can be watched in real time?
5) I don't think Showdown supports rotation battles yet, I'd be for Doubles or Singles, though preferably just singles this time so things don't get too complicated.
6) I'd definitely like a judge if we can get one. That way we can arrange matches to the best dramatic effect. Any volunteers?
6b) Speaking of dramatic effect, anyone think battles should be compiled into a story, kind of like the Australian Indoors-Rules Quiddich League? We could have the winners/losers of each match write them, or even get the judge to write them all, tournament announcer-style.
7)Yes, I definitely like this idea. Maybe with a new tournament gimmick each year?
And a few questions of my own.
8) How are we going to arrange this? Considering the diverse time zones we deal with here, I don't know if it's practical to hold the entire tournament in one go. Maybe carry the whole tournament over the course of a week with a certain amount of battles taking place every day?
9) How about rules regarding movesets and Abilities? Baton Pass chains and Moody come to mind, specifically.
10) Will there be a bracket for the losers of each match so they can still participate even if they're out of the running for the Cup/Belt/Shiny Thing?
11) We need a name for the Shiny-Cup-Belt that the champion will receive.
