...the entire reason that a wave function collapses is because that our methods of observation influence the system to the point where we force it into a desired state. In the Schrödinger's cat experiment, it's more like opening the box with a chainsaw. You brute-force the system into two possible states: upon sawing the box open you see either a live (and traumatized) cat or a very, very dead cat.

Furthermore, this interpretation of quantum theory gives rise to a bunch of crackpot theories with "reality is real only when you see it" as a central tenet which suggests that your mind somehow creates and influences a reality which in turn suggests that humans are so special that they make reality happen by their mere presence, which is utter nonsense (and rather Suvian in principle).
