Blurb: Olive Lin is the very definition of a self-made woman. After the tragic accident in which she lost both her legs and her wife, she turned her engineering skill to building the most advanced prosthetics imaginable. And once she'd started, she saw no reason to stop... With over 70% of her body replaced by machines, Graft is able to leap small mountains in a single rocket-propelled bound. She has devoted her life to helping those who can't help themselves - but has very little patience for those who could help themselves, but choose not to.

And thank god I had previously-recorded stuff to use, too, because guess who developed a sore throat overnight? >.>
Like I said, I'm happy being put in anyone's role, but Milano and Annabelle are the ones I'm eyeballing.
I'm excited to see how this goes! Are you planning on compiling a lyrics doc? Because I've only been able to find the broken-up versions in the musical stories.

Blurb: Aleister Charles Magnusson: small-time science fiction author, somewhat larger-time interdimensional protector. The Earth we know is but a fraction of the true whole, and beings of terrible power and inscrutable purpose seek to take what is the rightful property of mankind: our minds, our personalities, our very souls. Ali's ability to draw upon the power of multiple planar versions of himself are almost unique in the annals of history, and now he fights alongside a ragtag bunch of misfits to protect mankind from infohazards, deadly cults, and beings from beyond the limits of imagination. Not even your mind is safe.

It's probably going to just be the soundtrack- an 'Original Cast Recording', if you will- I felt that the narrative bits might be a bit hard to do in full.
I think it's possible to buy some of those instrumentals off iTunes- I've got a $50 gift card that's not going to get any use otherwise, heh.

... wait, there's only one male part in the entire thing. Ah, old-school PPC, you make my heart smile... :)
Anyway, I can probably put together an audition for Zit (haha), though I figure there'll be pretty intense competition... I'm happy to just be in the Chorus, though. :)
(By the by, are you just planning a soundtrack CD, or are you doing the narrative portions as well?)
I may be able to dredge up some instrumentals for the Wicked/Les Mis songs, if I can manage to strip the vocals out... it's theoretically possible, but depends on the song. Ve zhall zee.
(And Ek'y has been gone from the PPC for a long time, sad to say.)

I don't have a particularly good voice, but I think I'll send an audition in, and if I don't get a part (or if I do and you still need help) I'm willing to be part of the Agent Ensemble. Also I have a small (small) amount of skill on the ocarina, should you need something that sounds disappointingly like a recorder.
Seriously though, Kitty, thanks for putting this all together! I'm looking forward to hearing the finished production!

wistful vs. wishful by

Reply
From translating to German, "wistful" and "wishful" appear to be almost synonyms; but then, from translating back to English, only "wistful" is associated with melancholy and nostalgia and synonymous to "lugubrious", while "wishful" is synonymous to "yearning", "longing" and – well – "wistful".
Hey, you made me look it up, and I learned something.

PPC: The Musical- Casting Call by

Good evening (or morning, as the case may be!) to all of you, and I hope you're having a great whatever-time-of-the-day-it-is wherever you are, 'cause I'm here to ruin everything. I brought this up on the Discord server earlier, and a lot of people seemed to like the concept, so I put a bunch of stuff together, and now here I am.
So, I don't know if any of you have heard of and/or read PPC: The Musical by Ekwy Fields (a member of the PPC who doesn't seem to be around anymore). It's a pretty fun read with a cool plot that centers around Agents and Sues alike being influenced by a force that causes them to burst out into song, Once More With Feeling style. It was one of the first PPC stories I ever read, and it was kind of surprising when I went back to reread it out of nostalgia, and I realized that it was first published in 2005- well over a decade ago! Like, wow. It's been around for a while.
The concept is as follows. Anybody who wants to lend their voice to a wacky, fun musical about Mary Sues, true love, and the questions of allegiances- and I mean literally anyone that might be vaguely interested, you are in luck. I wrote up the full pitch for this, as well as logistics, character information, and song listings on this document right over here. Please go and check it out and audition and all that cool stuff.
I am notoriously awful at writing posts, so as soon as I press 'post message', I will probably instantly remember a million things that I forgot to include here. But for now, I think that's about it. Again, check out that doc, and feel free to ask any questions you might have!

"Even if we wouldn't be technically dead, I want to avoid being murdered, and the best way to keep oneself safe is to have all the facts." She nodded to herself; yes, that had sounded nearly as good out loud as it had in her head. She finished off the rest of her ice cream and left the bowl and spoon in what appeared to be the proper receptacles. "C'mon, Fee--Mister Turkey, there's something strange happening. Let's go poke it with a stick." With that, she set off back towards Cal's corpse, filled with determination and several more Doctor Who references.

Lee- The Crimson Woman had just suggested they abandon ice cream to go look at a corpse. He looked at her like she had said something mad (because she had said something mad.)
'Iiiif you want to?' Mister Turkey said, draining the rest of his hot chocolate, considering grabbing more for the journey.

They can, however, determine that there is not nearly enough stuff on it for the dead Hostess to have put up much of a struggle. So there's another point in the "she was already dead" category.

If that's how the large battles must be portrayed then it's fine to do so. Unfortunately, since i am not well versed in Mount and Blade, I won't be able to help much in terms of the larger scaled battles. However, if you need any help with the smaller fights feel free to ask.

Sapphire took The Musician's hand to land smoothly and blushed at the compliment. "I... I... Thank you, Miss Musician. Your costume is lovely as well; I mean it." They looked at her bashfully. "You really don't think I was being cowardly?"
Suddenly, a feeling of... wrongness trickled down Sapphire's neck. A feeling of being disturbed. Watched. A cold feeling, like a tiny sliver of ice lodged in their spine.
They turned to The Musician with eyes wide behind their mask. "Did you feel that? That horrible... foreboding? I... I could've sworn I felt a pair of eyes on me. Not friendly ones."

Just as Rod reached the top of the banister with the rest of his group, he stopped as a twisting feeling of foreboding shot up and down his spine. He whipped around and glanced over every corner of the room he could see, checking for anything that seemed . . . changed. The chill settled around his heart.
Something was wrong. Something dangerous. Room for one more, honey. Rod shook the thought away. That was just some line he remembered from an old TV show . . . wasn't it?

They weren't sure there was anything there they hadn't seen before, but then again, they hadn't looked all that closely. On the way there, they felt a shiver run down their spine, as if... something had happened, or someone was watching them. They looked around, but couldn't see anyone. It was probably the Hostess, doing what she did. Again.

Blurb: Douglas was always good at getting people to do what he wanted. His parents always believed him over his brothers, his teachers let him get away with minor (and not so minor) offences, and people always listened to him. One look at his big, brown eyes, and they never doubted a word he said.
It was only when he was twenty-one and short on cash that he thought he might be able to get away with robbery.
Thus, Douglas disappeared, and the Brass Hawk was born; a super villain who mesmerizes people with his eyes. The head of a vast criminal organization, he regularly faces down villains and heroes alike, turning them into his own agents--the small moving bits of his vast mechanism. Pieces on his board. Cogs in his machine.
(Hey, this is fun! Great game, hS!)

About ham radio: I'm not too sure if starting with DIY would be a good idea, but any other PPC hams feel free to contradict me, as I don't know all that much about how to choose equipment.
About fanfiction: A few times, though, it's the person's own fault for not getting a beta reader/not using spellcheck/posting on the Internet when they know they're not in their right minds.) The FAQ For Other People, in my opinion, really helps explain (albeit in a snarky way) the situations when it is the author's fault after all. Yeah, do focus on the good parts, but don't sugarcoat or leave out the bad ones. If you're going to review someone's fic (this is starting to sound like you want to review instead of sporking), the objective is that the author learns. Sporking, however, is mainly just for our entertainment, which is why whenever I do missions, I'm probably going to make them Google Docs and have people request for me to share the docs with them. That purpose is the reason why we're super-snarky about the fics and try our best to keep them away from their authors, and why we tend to keep to ourselves and don't advertise the PPC in big, bold letters. But if an author finds our sporking, our purpose then becomes giving them insight and explaining why the sporking was needed. (Other folks, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)
About PGP: Ah! That's pretty interesting! I'm not sure I want to use it for my Internet stuff, at least currently, but I'll keep it in mind for later down the road, and that's also very cool information.
