If those plans we were discussing go through, I will be dragged to this, won't I? Fangirling sounds like a good Christmas plan though.

Nice in theory, but I don't see where it could be done.

speaking of Gatherings... by

Cassie and I are vaguely planning a two-man Gathering in Preston sometime over Christmas. I say Gathering; the principal purpose of the day will be fangirling (on my part at least) over Torchwood's Gareth David-Lloyd in a pantomime. Would anyone else be up for that?

Now that's one masterful retelling of the three tales. I love the way you interwove the three separate plot threads and made them work together like that. Wish I could have been there. :( Still! There's the one next month, which I will be attending.
Also, now you've mentioned Star Wars/Roman History crossovers, I get the strange urge to go and actually write some...

I remember the gist of the speech. It went a bit like this:
"Back when you Americans were building railroads, the English had been there, done that, and had moved on to new and different forms of travel. Such as rivers. Where there weren't actual rivers, we made our own. Ergo, canal."
... It was really funny in person.

It's the combination of the blue and the triangular brackets--that adds up pretty invariably to Andalite, and there's only Ilraen and Iskillion in HQ.

I deny those accusations of being a spoilsport and a showoff, though. It isn't my fault I'm cleverer than you.
^_~
Seriously, though, good synopsis. Synopses. Either way. The picture with the portal is really good--the people in the background seem like they're leaning away from it. I also enjoyed the MST of the game shop.
... Nobody got a picture of the mini Mary-Sues, did they? Alas. Keeping straight faces until they were gone was an epic feat.
Also, I think the people here deserve a rendition of your speech about the canals, if you can remember it. *g*
~Neshomeh, whose own photos from the 2009 Gathering are still here, if anyone wants a(nother) look.

The Report on...
Bath 2009 PPC Gathering
Bath 2007 PPC Gathering
Salt Lake City 2008 PPC Gathering
OR
There And Back Again: A PPCer's Tale
This is a pretty epic report; it ran to fifteen pages in Word, and I've split it across two webpages to save those of you with slower connections, because there's a lot of pictures in there.
So, if you've ever wondered what happens when PPCers from various nations get together at my insistence, wonder no more, but read on, brave Boarder! Read on!
Etc, etc, etc.

Among other things, summary FAIL. And the grammar...gah. Looks like a perfect example of why just running the spellcheck over things isn't sufficient. Thank you for offering to kill it :P

I have looked at them for a while (banned at the library), so I can't comment. However, when I did read them, I found them brilliant. Then again, they have been going for ten years. Maybe they're running out of Steam? (Bad pun. Must be shot.)

Yesterday I also did some websurfing and found a script for the Newsies (when I first decided to do the mission (many months ago) I had looked for a Newsies Transcript and found nothing useful). That should cover the line stealing. And it means you don't have to jeopardise your childhood memories of the musical. If you feel daring, this is the link: Backbeat Love to the first chapter where Newsies appear. The Sue's name is Morgan; Jeffrey is a canon character from the other canon.
You could help me out with something else, though. In the fic and in the script, the characters say "pape" rather than "paper" and I would like to know how pape is pronounced.
Is it pape that rhymes with tape?
Or is it more like papah, and was the R dropped on paper because they didn't pronounce it?

the blue bit was just to send home a "not human" message pretty clearly, since Nadine wasn't really up to detailed observations, though I was thinking, possibly an andalite (can't remember if that's capitalized, it's been ages since I read anything from that series). And the linking's fine.

I mean honestly, asking for comments but specifically telling people not to say anything bad?
I posted a comment which was basically "you know, there's this thing called spellcheck that you might want to use." We'll see whether they're a troll from how they respond to that, I guess.
