'Tis all.
Hello to all! I go by theskylarksings on various places around the web, Sky for short if you're feeling lazy (I am). I'm an American female fangirl who enjoys the worlds of Middle-earth and Narnia, the universes of Star Wars and Star Trek, and various 'real-world' whatnots, including but not limited to BBC Sherlock and Marvel. I also do my own world building and original fiction on and off.
So I somehow or other stumbled upon the Wikia (some divine force must have sucked me in from Googleing a Mary Sue test for a friend) and subsequently read the Original Series (all hail Jay and Acadia!). I just wanna say: Your purpose and mission speak to me on a personal level. Seriously. Even the Flowers That Be thing doesn't faze me as much as it should.
I read the Constituion and a few other things, and my Agent is in development! I'll go through the paperwork of officially joining once I get my character shipshape and super.
So, yeah. Hiya! Ciao! Salam! Aloha! Yo! I'm running out of languages!
For the Coolness! You're in good company - LOTR, Narnia, and Sherlock; I love them as well (among other things)! And I'm a Minnesotan, by the way. Which state are you from?
I'm from Kentucky myself. The most stereotyped state of all, barring Texas.
I'm just north of Louisville in good ol' stereotypically bible-thumping, basketball-loving, redneck Hoosier land.
Actually less than six months ago. First I lived in Crescent Hill in the Highlands, and then moved out towards Prospect. What town do you live in, if you don't mind me asking?
I've lived in several places around KY, but right now I'm in the Southern part of it for the first time.
*shakes fist at the sky* One of these days, there will be a Gathering for Midwestern Boarders!
And I'm from New Albany, where nothing ever happens.
Anyway, welcome aBoard! Aside from one of my own shed feathers, have a ring that makes you invisible and a replica of the wardrobe from the first Narnia book!
The wardrobe is gorgeous! I hope I can keep all this stuff in-story! You never know what could come in handy... *puts on ring and slips off to do some hobbity mischief*
Welcome to the PPC! Have an urple ocarina (and some wilver earmuffs to block out the noise). Methinks you'll fit in perfectly with us. :)
Also, you and I like a lot of the same things! *Narnia fan high-five*
-Alleb
And if I've learned anything from Acacia and Jay, it's that earmuffs will be needed to block out the ucky dialogue. *makes random squeaky noise on ocarina* 'Preciate it!
The first word is Portuguese for hello, so you can add one more language to your list :)
Yeah, the PPC is indeed an awesome lot, isn't it? And we rather like it when people do the appropriate research before joining, so kudos for that.
Anyway, have a Bag of Holding, so that you can store the truckload of gifts you got and also have a Rorschach Book, which can change into virtually any written text in existence. Just close your eyes, think about what you wanna read and then blink three times.
*snatches book* *blinks rapidly* *squeals*
Also the bag is an excellent and practical touch. I was wondering how I was going to keep my ominous bird and Slakoth away from each other.
Welcome to the PPC Posting Board, a place where dreams and hopes come true, and magical gumdrops rain from the sky every morning.
I offer to you: my own faith in your abilities. It comes from the heart. Not like that silly materialistic rubbish.
*...and then immediately goes to trying to catch gumdrops*
But really, thanks. I could seriously use some faith right about now. :)
There's plenty more where that came from.
(That's a very formal greeting in Amharic, btw)
Anyway, welcome to the PPC! Here is your starter Pokémon:-
Iiiiiit's Slakoth!
And your starting item is:-
Spikestrip from Risk of Rain!
Well... Spikestrip's a brilliant item for certain types of mon! It activates when hit and lowers the attacking Pokémon's Speed stat by 2 stages, but the problem is that Slakoth's stats are pretty ropey and it doesn't have all that much bulk, even for Little Cup. However, the biggest downside is that Slakoth is lumbered with Truant, which is pretty much the worst ability in the game, and it doesn't get Entrainment so you can't be tricksy and shove it onto the attacking 'mon. If you must do it, go for EVs in HP and Physical Defence, with Bulk Up, Slack Off, Body Slam, and Shadow Claw. Or you could wait for it to evolve into a Slaking. That is also an option. =]
*cuddles Slakoth* And I'm sure the spikestrip will come in handy somewhere along the line. (Perhaps in impaling a Sue...)

I'm glad what we do speaks to you on a personal level. Here's a Spanish-phrase-of-the-day calendar and a bunch of golf pencils! No, I don't know where I got them, either.
Pocket-sized pencils and lovely languages! Not that you should really put a pencil in your pocket, due to the high likelihood of stabbing yourself, and getting a piece of lead stuck in you. Though you wouldn't be getting lead poisoning it would still be pretty painful, and –
Oh. Right, I'm rambling. In favor of keeping it brief: Thanks.
Welcome, welcome! I'm gonna call ya Sky, since I'm exceptionally lazy. But for now, have a slice of Infinite Pizza!
Seeing your fandoms, I think we're gonna have a lot to talk about! :D Also, since you're a native English speaker, I better have you in my contacts; you never know when a good beta comes around!
I rather enjoy betaing, so feel free to call upon me!
Also the infinite pizza is excellent. Mr. Cipher, I cannot thank you enough. This is a truly divine gift. *munches* Especially after thinking you might grind my bones for bread... :)
Welcome to the board! Have a pen, it's mightier than a sword. It's full of secrets, you'll see as you use it.
I appreciate the thoughtful gift. *scribbles on spare piece of paper* Oo, a gel pen!
(That'd be Hebrew, spelled thus: שלום.)
Since you've read the stuff, here, have this cup of — no get out of there it's for tea not for hamsters, dammit.
'Tis all.
(nm) stands for "(no message)", and it's automatically tacked onto posts with... you've guessed it, no message.
The other message boards I've posted to you added "nt" for "no text" manually as a courtesy. Thanks for the heads up!
Anyway, newbie! *glomps anyway* Heya and welcome aBoard! As your newbie gift, please take this plate of freshly-made SPaGhetti!
Since you've already answered the usual questions I ask, allow me to ask you one: Are you planning on only one agent? The general recommended number is two, since agents work in pairs (and occasionally teams). Unless you plan on writing with a friend, and in that case, awesome. :)
Anyway, hope you like it here!
I'm hoping to recruit a friend or two to write with me, but if I can't I will write a second agent!
Thanks for the SPaGhetti! I'm liking it around here already.
We do let people who don't have Permission write under people who do, but if your friend(s) want(s) to write mission as a full-on partner, they'll have to get Permission eventually as well.
If my original writing partner hadn't eventually handed the reins over to me for her agent, she would have needed to get Permission too. So, yeah, just a heads-up. :)
And yeah, this place is pretty great. I'm nearing my two-year PPCversary (wow, two years? Feels like I got here just yesterday) and have yet to get tired of this place.
...whether or not this place has gotten tired of me is a different question, though. :P Anyway, yeah, here's to hoping you stick around!
I appreciate all the friendliness around here. Cheers!
Have some black-hole chocolate, please. Now, You pretty much said everything important about you, but I think you also should check the FAQ about Permission on the Wiki, if you're so hellbent on joining. Hope you're here to stay.
Thanks, I'll check it out for sure. I'm certainly planning on sticking around awhile ;)
Welcome to our humble point of the internet. Have a BIRD OF MAGNIFICENT DESTRUCTION for your troubles.
Assuming (nm) stands for "no more," that is. Which is no longer technically true at this point, I suppose. Oops.
