alder (what?)
unicorn (yeah!)
10.75 inches (huh)
surprisingly swishy (what does this even mean?)

That, honestly, sounds like exactly the wand I'd expect for someone in the military. Well, the old-school, shows-up-in-fiction military, a la knights. Disciplined, strong sense of honour, adaptive, but with a tendency for flamboyance?
(Just so you know, I'm now imagining you decking out the US navy in those curtain things horses wear. What're they called, anyway?)
hS
Nah, the real name for those is caparisons. Or certain types of lifidi, but those are a) actually armoured and b) from what these days is Nigeria. So that's probably not what you had in mind. =]

I got Acacia, Dragon Heartstring, 13 Inches, Quite Bendy.
Tricky, subtle, powerful, and very adaptable. A dangerous combination.

There's tabs at the bottom of the page. That way you can get your own wand. The first page is just other people's wands, and we all know what happens when we use those.
(fun fact: tree and lola can't use each other's wands like at all. go figure.)
I haven't found any such tabs yet. Could you point them out to me?
The Ninth: Beech with dragon heartstring core, 14 inches, reasonably supple
The Tenth: Chestnut with unicorn hair core, 14 1/4 inches, unyielding
The Eleventh: Acacia with unicorn hair core, 13 3/4 inches, brittle
His core was phoenix feather, remember? So your wand is adept at working consistent, high level magic. I'd wager it'd be good for healing magic, personally, but that's just conjecture on my part. =]
That would be all right.
Even with the different core though, it still feels weird having the same wood as Tom Riddle, considering how rarely yew is used.
—doctorlit has the same wood as Tom Riddle, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more
I'm not entirely sure it's the right fit for me (never chooses a timid or mediocre room my foot), but I don't mind it's the same wood as Voldemort's wand. After all, even Hitler liked dogs.
with a dog in his hand.
—doctorlit likes cats better than dogs anyway. Even cats that look like Adolf.
Your wand may not come from the same tree as Voldemort's. Wand trees may be rare, and yew among the rarest, but you can only harvest so many branches without killing the tree, and I just bet Ollivander believes in sustainable harvesting. I bet he harvests as widely as possible so as to reduce the burden on any one tree. {= )

Wandlore's a barely explored part of the Potterverse, and having a fic centred around Ollivander pottering about the place being a one-wizard Gardener's Question Time and experimenting with different wood types would be amazing. What would his response to Dutch Elm disease in the '70s be? Or to ash dieback and sudden oak death from a few years back? The latter in particular would be an interesting thing to consider, since English oaks are the most common trees in the UK and I'm being very, very dull right now and should stop immediately. =]
But I'll bet you're right. Ollivander is a green wizard!

The one closest to my answers was Elder wood and unicorn hair, 10 inches, hard. Hoo boy, I'm in for a struggle. Elder wood is the hardest to master, and they think it's unlucky, too. Mine in particular (and yours truly?) is extra-stubborn thanks to that "hard" designation. But on the bright side, the unicorn hair means it'll be more stable and hard for the Dark Arts to work. :)
You can actually do your wand yourself that way, rather than relying on the "Wand Collection" tab, which is just a list of other people's answers. =]
Does the wand's shape mean anything in particular? Cause the spreadsheet said mine was "ribbed".
I ended up with a hazel wand with unicorn hair core, 10 3/4 inches, unyielding.
So, from what I gather, my wand is not flashy, but is dependable (so long as I keep an even head), sympathetic and steadfastly loyal. I don't think I would have it any other way. *hugs his little dowsing wand*
For Meg - Cypress and phoenix feather, 13 inches, unyielding. So, stubborn and temperamental with a penchant for doing the right thing.
For Michelle - Hawthorn and unicorn hair, 9 3/4 inches, quite flexible. So both healing and deadly, faithful and changeable, just a bit fragile. Oh boy.
For me - Hawthorn and phoenix feather, 13 inches, hard. Okay, fair enough.
Und here are beink my results...
Echt klasse!
Laurel, unicorn hair, 10-3/4 inches, slightly springy.
Out of curiosity, I also did for one of my future agents, and got this: rowan, dragon hearstring, 9-1/2 inches, reasonably supple.
Chestnut, unicorn tail-hair, 10-3/4 in, hard.
Hmm, you're studying law in some form, aren't you? The bit about chestnut-and-unicorn carriers being concerned with justice might have some merit. {= )

To be precise, I've started the first year of an LLB about a month ago.
Pine, unicorn hair, 12 and 1/2 inches, brittle.
Because I'm not seeing my Pottermore wand combo on here (Yew, dragon heartstring, 12-1/2 inches, surprisingly swishy). According to the chart, I'm Yew, Unicorn core, 10-3/4 inches, surprisingly swishy, so there's a bit of overlap.
The Aviator: Apple, unicorn, 11-1/2, rigid
Zeb: Cypress, dragon, 13, slightly yielding
I must say, Zeb's wand wood is absolutely perfect for him. :D
I hope you're not planning anything too heroic for poor Zeb. *eyes sidelong*
Apple seems to suit the Aviator pretty well, too, in a sort of so-literal-it's-almost-ironic way. {= )
~Neshomeh
I think he's already more than done his share of heroics.
And apple... the 'long-lived' in the description made me cackle. Ironic indeed.
I totally didn't not notice that. Nope.
*scuttles away*
I did a search for my combo and it was only turning up one yew/dragon. That's odd indeed.
... looking at the Wand Collection tab? 'Cause it only does show two options for Yew for some reason, but there are actually three ways to get it, which you can see in the Woods (Hazel-Yew) tab or by finding your answers in the All Woods tab. You'll find the rest of your answers turn up the correct results by looking at the Cores, Lengths, and Flexibilities tabs, respectively.
