Duly noted.
Today I stumbled across PPC whilst looking for "A Trekkie's Tale", and then I gave it a better look, over some articles, (laughed a lot) and then I decided to post here!
I'm in a lot of fandoms - I guess I don't really have high standards when it comes to media - but I like Homestuck, Zelda, South Park and Doctor Who the most.
So, to finish this, how are you?
P.S.: Is there any way of formatting the text such as CSS or HTML?
Here, have a complimentary Awake!
Welcome! Have a freshly-baked bleepolate-chip cookie and a huggle! -huggles-
Welcome to the Board! Have some chocolate, won't you?
Welcome to the Board. We always love newbies! Have a piece of bubble wrap.
I've been recently developing new presents for newbies given our new circumstances of having a new website to dreg up mission fodder from (that was a lot of newness...). So - take your pick:
Would you have a Logic Bomb, some lemming repellent, or a graduated cylinder?
The logic bomb? I ... have a weak spot for things that go "kaboom".
Because so does, I'm assuming, everybody on the board, myself included.
Welcome to the Board. May your stay here be filled with exactly as much insanity as you want and/or deserve.
First of all, weird username, but this is a place where weird is the norm, so you're good. :)
Also, you were looking for "A Trekkie's Tale". Does that mean that you are a Trekkie? If so, which is your favorite series? I like TNG best.
Oh, and have a tribble as a welcome gift. :)
I'm not a Trekkie, I tried to get into the show but I never really got into it. I was searching for it mostly out of curiosity ...
And thanks for the tribble
Still cool that you're doing research on the origins of the Sue.
And another note on your username--I do believe there were/are some real life gay penguins in a zoo somewhere. The zookeepers gave them an egg to take care of, and since male penguins are involved in taking care of chicks the two male penguins raised it just fine.
I think it's a cute story.
I didn't know that, I got that username as a joke, like, someone needs to be ... a bit quirky to get off on penguin yaoi, and so I chose it because I like my friends a bit quirky.
I'm happy to see that there's a cute story to go with the username though.
Welcome a-Board the good ship PPC, person who's username has left me slightly confused! It seems that you've already been pointed in all the right directions, so the only thing left is to give you a traditional newbie gift. Have a bag of holding, because you seem to have forgotten yours and it's always good to have something that holds other things.
So... penguins. They kind of have to cuddle all winter, don't they?
That said, welcome to the board, my shtick is pulling random stuff out of my pockets and passing it off. Have a can of ravioli, some ice cubes, and a tube of toothpaste as your welcome to the board. Oh, and I guess you can have the rest of the bleepnerds that I stole off somebody's desk...
Well, some penguins decided to take the cuddling to the next level.
And thanks for all of these gifts :)
The penguins clearly had some extra time on their hands. :)
Welcome to the Board! Have some of my world-famous hydrophobic water. K-Blooee Industries are not to be held liable if you want to swim in a pool of this stuff. Seriously, don't do it.
If you haven't done so already, you should definitely take a look at the Original Series, the first-ever PPC missions written by Jay and Acacia.
Another Zelda fan! In that case, have this authentic Hylian Shield, fresh from the blacksmith's. What's your favourite Zelda game? I'm currently going through Skyward Sword and I think it just might beat OoT in terms of sheer awesome.
Thanks for the gift, and yes, I am reading those stories already; I'm having some trouble assimilating all of that because I never read LotR but I'm think I'm managing to get by.
Thanks for the shield, and, I think it's OoT? I'm not really sure, I never have a straight answer for these favourite questions and the fact that I haven't played much games don't really help ... '-_-
Hi, have some fudge!
Are you more of a classic Who or new Who fan? (Or both?)
I started watching Doctor Who after the reboot, if that's what you're asking; and thanks for the fudge!
Welcome to the Board. Please leave your sanity at the door. You shan't need it.
As Shoe's greet was once, hi hello and greetings! As Specs pointed you toward the relevant stuff, I just want to give you this cup of tea - don't let the leaves eat you - and this M16 bullet I found today while cleaning some tents.
Why, thank you. Nothing goes better with this London-ey weather than a nice cup of tea.
It's a pity you missed that one time the Board had a lead of penguins released onto it.
As a Newbie gift have a morphing bow tie. Can be black, polka dotted, spinning or neon purple (don't ask how that last one works).
If you don't mind I'll have the black one.
Oh, that sounds cute :3
Nice to meet you. Here is a bag of polyhedral random number generators. Use them responsibly (or not. I don't judge).
Now that you're here, let me give you some advice on how to proceed. Hang out, make some friends (or enemies, if that is your thing. Again, I don't judge.), read some stuff, take a nap, read some more stuff.
Good to have more Zelda fans around.
-Phobos, who might judge just a little.
Isn't a polyhedral number generator a die? Either way, thanks for the gift though =]
...if you want to get technical about it, then yes.
-Phobos, who is surprised no one ever asked that before now.
I can understand other's point of view though. When you get technical and in-depth about a given subject things ... start to get a lot less funnier ...
If you really start picking things apart with a fine-toothed comb, and analyzing every little bit and every component part of a given issue, then it tends to not be nearly as funny, due in large part to the profuse amount of verbiage that tends to accompany such in-depth, thorough, comprehensive, extensive, exhaustive, and, in some ways, intense microscopic analyses of any sort of idea, concept, opinion, notion, or other phenomenon which might be the topic of discussion in a group of people, which invariably includes one jackass (that would be me) who persists in their foolish mission to take up as much space as possible without using any sort of ending punctuation and makes it impossible for anyone else to get a word in edgewise, if this were happening in a face-to-face conversation which, of course, it is not, so it didn't really bear mentioning in this conversation which, as we know, is about examining something with such detail that it starts to get a lot less funny, which is the point that I am trying to illustrate.
-Phobos, taking things to an illogical extreme.
Greetings, new penguin friend! Have some killer whale repellant!
Standards? Piffle! We like fandom knowledge around here!
Thank you for the gift. Since I'm not exactly a good swimmer this repellent shall be useful!
Not to mention that the fact that you're not treating me like garbage for being a Homestuck (and not necessarily liking Homestuck) is actually quite refreshing.
HTML formatting is this site's calling card.
Welcome to the board, be sure to read the Rules and Constitution, check out the IRC, and all that fun jazz!
Here's a pair of Kicking Boots. The rocket thrusters are for added Gary Stu ball-busting power.
(Note: Specs and Co. claim zero responsibility for broken leg bones, pulled muscles, torn ligaments, or dislocated joints.)
You may not have meant anything by it—for all I know you're just talking about the penguins—but please allow me to point you to rule 1 of our shiny constitution. Referring to other people's sexual preferences as "creepy" falls firmly into the category of things that make said people feel oppressed and marginalized, I think, and we want to be a welcoming community.
I'm sure the penguins don't want to be judged for being penguins, either. {= P
~Neshomeh, friendly reminder-ing.
Oh, thanks for that, I had completely forgotten that rule.
Thanks for the gifts and for the greetings :3
Hope you brought a bag of holding. Give the board a few minutes, and this topic will be stacked with replies.
