...too dazed to hear what Zeb had to say. Of course it had to happen. He brought it on himself with all of that meticulous planning and effort. Nothing escaped the Ironic Overpower-- especially not his little happy picnic.

Gaspard felt around his face with a hand. It stung. A lot. He wondered if the impact of the whatever-it-was re-broke his nose. Fantastic. He turned his head towards last known location of Tacitus. "Er, Tacitus? I think my nose might be broken again. Can you check?"

A moment later, a piece of paper poked his brow. He clumsily reached over and held the note in front of his face. "Not sure what I'm looking for. If you meant to make me check if your face was even more messed up than before, then I am pleased to report that I cannot see any difference. There is no blood, either."

"Thanks, Tacitus," mumbled Gaspard. "I think I'm just going to lie here for a bit and think about life."
