It's nothing personal, it's just I don't like the idea of reading stories that involve fanfics of works I don't take in (like if an original episode involves Twin Peaks for instance, 'cause I don't watch that).

Also, I looked at a few of the original chapter summaries, and a lot involve Legolas, who is my least-favourite LoTR character due to me not finding him very interesting, finding elves in general a bit too OP, and being a bit squicked out by him because he's someone fangirls are gross about without having many interesting traits to make up for it. (e.g. People are gross about Seven of Nine too, but she's interesting enough for me to not start being grossed out by her because of that.)

It's fine if The Lord of the Rings isn't one of your major fandoms. However, the main reason we expect people to read the Original Series is to gain a basic understanding of how the PPC works, as intended by its creators. I know you're somewhat active on the wiki, but reading wiki articles is not enough. Also, to be frank, your edits often seem to show a fixation on things you consider gross, coupled with a lack of broader understanding of the topic; and your SPaG need improvement. At this time, I would deny a Permission request from you on those grounds.

So, what is your plan to a) gain a thorough understanding of the PPC and b) improve your writing skills to the point where you can showcase that understanding in a Permission request?

Reading a lot on the wiki and as wide a variety of other missions as possible (including older ones, and by that I mean from the early 2000s as well as just 2014 or something, which is admittedly now six years ago) might help with gaining that understanding of the setting, including the early setting, that we're looking for, by the way. And I do understand not wanting to read missions into canons you don't know, but if you can stomach it it would probably be a good idea to at least skim TOS, or read the ones where Legolas isn't a focus/isn't present, given that it's what started this whole thing (which is a main reason why reading it is so prevalent here).
