Good to have you here! At some point, I'm sure I'll come up with something creative to give people. I dunno... have a kobold?

Ah, hi! My name is ShriekingOrneryShrike, due to a joke about birds my friend made. I also answer to Shrieking, Shrike, Ornery, or SOS ("hey you" and similar also works).
I used to lurk on the board a lot as a kid before I got sidetracked or lost interest or whatever happened, but I recently ran across a badfic in my never-ending hunt for more content and immediately thought of you guys. So now I'm back, as a semi-functional mostly-adult, and hopefully I'll actually interact with y'all this time!
My usual fandoms are Star Wars (esp. the clone wars era), Warrior Cats, The Hobbit, Dragon Age, and Ranger's Apprentice/Brotherband Chronicles. Occasionally I'll dip into Narnia, Mass Effect, or Flight Rising if I find something that really strikes my fancy. Other interests include Norse mythology (I just think they're neat), drawing, video games, bad jokes, and writing original fic.

as the last newbie(to my knowledge) I hope you have a great time
Have a carrot. I hear they restore braincells.
Oh boy, another newbie! Seeing you guys come in reminds me of when I first joined... which was only 4 months and 14 days ago.
Anyway, I find it interesting that you like Norse mythology. I suggest that you read the Magnus Chase books, assuming your haven’t already.
And have a Generic Gift! It’s... something!
I've read the first Magnus Chase book and I've been quietly trying to accrue the rest of them; I don't have as much time for reading as I'd like anymore, unfortunately. I did really like Sword of Summer! (Hel being a villain always makes me sad, though :( she's my favorite... just let her chill...)
Semi-functional? I'm jealous! We only have one brain cell here and I think the oldbies are hoarding it :p.
Here, have a full set of roleplaying dice, from a d4 to a d20. Have fun guessing the pattern!
And... so I hear you like Flight Rising. What's your screenname, can I send you a friend request, and what's your lore like (if you have any)? Asking because I'm sort of the community Pied Piper when it comes to the sweet dragon game. (No, seriously, I can think of half a dozen people I've dragged into it from the PPC off the top of my head. If you see someone from the PPC on FR, with the exception of Mikel, chances are, they were dragged into it by an enthusiastic Cal. I'm even part of the Glitterdom team!)
I can always use more dice!
My FR username is Dorano1; my lair lore is... so much. I'm actually in the middle of a big reshuffle at the moment - we have a coup in the making! The main leader got taken out before she could do anything, but her lieutenant is almost as bad as she was...
You can absolutely send me a friend request. I usually check the site once or twice a day to feed my dragons and chip away at lore-writing. I don't think I've actually heard of Glitterdom? I'm not sure involved in the FR community haha, I'm mostly just there for the pretty pixel dragons.
I can't wait to see what happens with your lore, then!
Glitterdom is the easy name for the Light Flight dominance Team(trademark pending). I'm super new and not very involved with the active push - Welcome to Light Vale, if anyone out-of-flight was curious - but I'm hoping to cook up some cool ideas for down the line. There is one I'm vaguely nursing for some Halloween... a redo of the Frankenstein novel, anyone?
And since you mentioned wanting more dice, do you enjoy any particular tabletop games? We've got quite the community here for that.
Oh, nice! I'm Water Flight myself.
I do like tabletop games! For a while there I was four a week, but then one shut down, so now it's just the three. I like 5e well enough, but D&D has always been a little crunchy for my taste (although it can still be quite fun). I've always preferred what I like to call "d6 systems" - things like Tremulus, Demigods, Monster of the Week, or Band of Blades, where the mechanics are streamlined towards a specific narrative.
Right now I have a DnD game going, a Tremulus campaign, and a Band of Blades campaign - the latter two with roughly the same group, actually. Three days a week is plenty as it turns out. (I used to dress up for the sessions, but now they're all over Discord so I don't :( Camera shy and all that.)
I'm also on Flight Rising. I believe I joined it before knowing about the PPC...
I don't remember my username lol. Something along the lines of "MedeiaUmbre."
But it's good to see others who play things I play.
cough I mean, hello SOS. Have a glass frog!
I'm Kittyauthor, who answers to anything but Kat and Cat (KitKat is fine though).
Glad to have you with us, Shrike.
Have two cents, so you can add them to discussions!
I'll spend them carefully :)
