One of the joys I have in my offline life is group folk singing, and it's one that 2020 has took from me like a Saint-Malin corsaire. I miss group singing like a red kite misses the blue sky, and I want to keep going with it. I want to combine that passion with my passion for this community, and I'd love to put together an impromptu folk group to sing some songs in the PPC Discord.

I care about this community, and I'd like to give back the best way I can; through song and through rhyme.

I'll be ready to meet people all the time to talk about this, pretty much. I want to make this work and I want to make this something for the community to be proud of. So, y'know... signups below I guess. Bring a voice and bring a reel to sing. I love to sing, and I want the PPC to love to hear.

Or at the very least, like I won't be taking part.

I've got a killer sore throat I haven't been able to shift and my voice is croaky and a little painful. Singing at present is Not Fun.

2020 couldn't finish without stopping me having one last cool thing, I guess.

Maybe it's not a group sing (and I do hope you feel better soon!), but I believe it's still 2020 in your time zone, so I am, in fact, going to battle my internet connection to get you at least a bit of the flavor of the attempted cool thing.

I might have family commitments New Year's Eve, not sure yet, but I would be interested in this sort of thing going forward. My IRL friend who likes sea shanties is trying to get me to do something similar, too. I missed out on the wassailing one, alas. So, either I'll bring whatever I brush up for this to that, or vice versa. ^_^

That's usually about when I'm starting to make dinner. I'm more likely to be able to skirt around other possible engagements if this is in my afternoon rather than my evening, too. {= )

That's how I learned all my folk songs anyways.

But maybe pick up Banned From Argo. Or Charlie on the MTA. Or Wild Rover...
