I didnt reply until now, its because I have been very busy
I kinda agree about making merchandise, since PPC re kind of niche...
But I still can make flash patches as special requests/ comissions, same with t-shirts
On the Discord, RavyBirgerss has put forward the idea of making and selling physical versions of the PPC flash patches, with the permission of Nesh and the other original designers, and the input of others on the Board. I think that's about all the details.
Since Ravy hasn't gotten to it, with their permission, I'm starting the thread. Please put forward your Thoughts on this. (I have my own, but I'll detail those in another post.)

I personally don't have a problem with anyone making their own flash patches for, e.g., personal use, as gifts, or as a "party favor" for a Gathering.
I'd feel a bit skeevy about anyone doing it for the purpose of profiting off other PPCers. Like... we're meant to be a community, not an untapped market. (Not to belabor that we're too small to be much of a market anyway.)
That said, if you're poor and need help covering shipping, we can all understand that; or, if you're fundraising for some other reason and want to throw in a custom design as an incentive to donate; or you take commissions generally and this is an extra option for PPCers; that could be okay. Maybe I'm splitting hairs, but I think intent matters.
But, the other issue is that people aren't always comfortable giving out their address to someone they've only met online. You'd have to have a certain amount of credibility to make it possible even to give things away for free. Not saying don't give it a try, but don't be surprised if you don't get (m)any takers.

I mail out holiday cards to people, and that includes people on the Board, but those people are people I've known for a while. I've run fanzines that shipped out physical copies to people, but those were done in such large quantities (like over 600 of them) that I wouldn't have linked usernames and mailing addresses at all.
Intent definitely matters. The PPC's always had a vibe of hand-made stuff for me? Home-grown Gatherings instead of cons, handmade merch, everyone just contributing stuff for fun rather than profit, etc. That's why I'd prefer merch to be pay-for-production if not free, because adding profit to the equation just makes things incredibly fraught.
/definitely once turned the Board Game into an actual board game using clay and a canvas board. No I don't know where that's got to, it's probably in the box of middle school art projects at my mom's house...
I don't know about one person being the one in charge of selling such a thing. If it were to happen, I would prefer it being priced at "pay for production" levels, wherein you pay the amount it takes to cover the cost of creating the patch and shipping it to you.
I think it'd also be cute to have templates of the flash patches for free so you can make your own badges. That way all you'd need is access to a printer and a badge-maker.
I'm honestly not sure how many people would actually be willing to pay for a physical flash patch. Sure, it'd be cool, but it seems like a lot of hassle for something, in my opinion, is more of a DIY project.
I honestly regret starting this thread, I think I should've let Ravy do it.
Anyway, that's my two cents.
