The events are real, and the characters are based at least a bit on real people, but they're all renamed and so on.

Legolas cast as James Herriot of "All Creatures Great and Small".

Don't think it's sporkably bad, but I thought it was amusing and wanted a second opinion.
I was kind of excited by the prospect, actually. But then I read it, and it was more of a dull Legolas/Aragorn romance than anything to do with animals. Too bad.
here. Ursula Vernon rocks :)
Rarely enough to I see good stuff posted here. It's kind of refreshing. And what a good story it is, too.
I found another one I'd kind of like to share - a case of guro done right ;) Though I know extreme violence isn't to everyone's taste, I'm sure some people here wouldn't mind it.
... to plug the PPC Rec Center. Not that you shouldn't also start a goodfic-sharing thread, but consider adding the things you share to your rec list there, too. {= D

... about the Rec Center. I have on occasion come across a fic that may not be entirely well executed, but still have some elements that I find worthy of praise. It could be the authors take on characters, environment or other such details.
Could I post those in my Rec Center (if I actually get around to making one) provided I write clearly in the description what I find good, but also where I find it lacking? Or should I only use the Rec Center for actual recommendations of good fics?
...Is for fic that you, personally, like and think are good.
It's entirely up to you.
Thank you for sharing! Poor trolls, only one elf in all the world will take care of their injuries . . .
Avoids the 'elves are better than everyone else' stereotype, maintains that some ugly fantasy creatures are nice (beauty =/= goodness) and depicts cute idyllic fantasy scenes (cuddling baby unicorns) in a realistic and critical light.
I am Aster and I approve of this piece of fiction.
I want to print it out, wrap it around a brick and hand it to my agents, so they can use it to smack the next Sue who shows up with a glittery unicorn.
That's an... odd choice of canons. Huh.
