In which a DoSAT agent goes running around Pandora with Florestan and Eusabius, untangling Avatar from Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind.

This mission is odd in that there isn't a single piece of loot, or a mini. Sadly; I was looking forward to naming an Avatar mini. Ah well. *shrugs*

...is that is can be both entertaining and enthralling to people who are unfamiliar with the canon involved. You've nailed that here. I know next to nothing about both Avatar and Nausicaä, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this mission. Your character interaction in particular was very good. Florestan and Eusabius have an excellent rapport, and throwing Zerenze into the mix was a nice choice.

My one issue is regarding how large the quotes from the original badfic can get. There are points, particularly closer to the end, where the sheer length of the excerpts was dragging down the pacing of the mission. Really long excerpts always smack a bit of 'telling' rather than 'showing.' I would suggest that you try to describe what is happening in the badfic rather than just resorting straight to direct quotes.

Nice Mission! Though I have no idea about Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind (Ha-ha copy.paste!) I am glad I know one of the settings.

One minor gripe (Read; inconsequential.) The Maquis de Sod saying/typing 'guys' just seems off to me. Dunno why, wasn't a deal breaker for me anyway. I am slightly put off by not knowing one of the canons, but it isn't that bad.

...And un, I didn't realize that the only reason Jake got to meet the people was because he was paralyzed. I just thought they wanted to see him because of the he was playing with their multi-million/billion dollar toy. The more you know!

And I love Zerenze pointing out the plot hole in the ohmu's fluid thing. Using logic like that is fun, and reading is is even better!

So, great mission, and Dun Dun Dun agents getting cozy!

Yeah, Jake wouldn't have been of much use to the RDA in his human form since he couldn't use his legs. (Remember all the shots of him using a wheelchair? Yeah, exactly.) In his avatar form, though, his legs are just fine.

Ha ha, LOL. It's really not as bad as it sounds. They were only pissed off because one of their young ones was being held captive by Kejite. But yeah, it does get a little apocalyptic when they start swarming everything, but it only happens when you kidnap their young.

LOL yeah, the plot hole there was gigantic. And it just reeked of plot convenience, too. "Hey, let's get Nausicaa on Pandora! Wait, she needs to be in the Avatar program! No she doesn't, I have an ohmu that can secrete a magical serum that can let her breathe the air of Pandora without dying! Now I don't need to bother explaining anything else! Yay!" *rolls eyes*

Er, what I meant was, wouldn't she want to meet him anyway? Like, if there is a new replacement, I would want to at least have a conversation with them, if I was the head of division/thing that is.

Nice mission!

Personally, I prefer movies like "Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind" to "Avatar". At least Miyzaki can be //subtle//.

Not to mention the story is pretty cliche, and, Unobtanium? //Really?//

(Also, I think there already is a Mini for Avatar, but I could be wrong?)

...though in terms of Studio Ghibli environmental aesop movies, absolutely nothing will beat out "Princess Mononoke" for me. Nothing. Seriously, that movie is pure unadulterated awesome, and it's incredibly subtle to boot.

I dunno, I thought Avatar was pretty good for what it was, but against Miyazaki's movies, I think it's bound to lose every time.

(Yeah, there was, from an RC that hasn't been documented at all on the Wiki, apparently.)
