I'd like to get some other people's opinions on this fic. I think I've kind of lost my confidence on picking targets. My first thought was that this would be very workable as a Bad Slash mission, but then I was kind of eh...
Hello, all! I'm new here, although I've been eager to connect with other people. I burned through Jay and Acacia's original series in about two weeks, and am eager for more.
One thing that I've noticed is that there is only one mission into a Hobbit fanfiction. With the two new movies (which I loved, and won't hear anything said against them) I'm sure there's a lot of Fili/OC, Kili/OC, Thorin/OC, and bad Thilbo slash out there. (Not that all Thilbo slash is bad. I enjoy a good fem!Bilbo/Thorin story every now and then.) My personal goal, should I get permission, is to start killing off some of the Mary Sues mucking up canon out there.

Glad to see you've read the original series and are eager to connect. What other fandoms are you interested in? How'd you come across Tolkien's works? Where'd you first hear about us?

To those of you asking, my main fandoms are (besides Tolkien) Discworld and Doctor Who (mainly Classic) but I also love Redwall, Sherlock, Blackadder, Firefly, Pushing Daisies, Red Dwarf, and Whose Line is it Anyway. Whew! Now that I list them all out, it seems like a lot. Oh, and Cabin Pressure! Can't forget good old MJN Air.

Gawd, my last D&D session, I got the male dwarf cleric, a guy got the female, we didn't trade... His character drawing had the beard split to display the cleavage. My dwarf was wall-eyed and still managed to cast "the most interesting person you've ever seen" spell on himself.

Missions aren't exactly written in just a day after all, and I know at least I have one in the works.
(The movies are themselves badfic, so you have a nesting doll of badness when it comes to the Pit! Target-rich environment.)
You know how they say never to look a gift horse in the mouth? Less Hobbit missions means less Hobbit badfics… That we know of. Great. Thanks for that.

I've been wondering about that myself. In fact, I got around to searching for a few Hobbit badfic, but I ran out of steam before I even started trawling the Fanfiction page…
