Why Phobos? :-P

This is a cozy little corner of the Internet with a whole bunch of nine and cool people in it. It sucked me in back in 2011 and it looks like it hasn't stopped doing that to people since. I can definitely say I've made some good friends here.

The shared PPC universe is also a pretty funny thing and nice to tinker around with occasionally, which helps.

I haven't actually gone through and systematically re-read Animorphs, to be honest. I mainly read whichever ones I could snatch out of various libraries in some semblance of order. Maybe I should go back and revisit those books.

Anyway, congrats! Here's a Pink Slime (from Slime Rancher) as a good-luck-on-your-PPC-writing present! Its coral hue is scientifically proven to be the color of cheer.

NM&NMs, which are basically bleepolate versions of M&Ms in, I believe, various Sue-created colors like urple and wilver, came from people not realizing the (nm) was automatic and adding it themselves, resulting in subject lines that ended (nm)(nm). More (okay similar and a little more) information can be found here on the wiki, under the bleepolate entry (second subentry).

PS: ...am I somehow an oldbie now? I mean, if Iximaz is one...and Novastorme is one...oh man. I guess we 2013ers are old is now. Help? It's a weird thought. Though not quite as weird as the thought of fifteen year oldbies. Speaking of which, congratulations, all of you--shouldn't we celebrate sometime this year? That's quite an anniversary!

As for the story itself... actually, not feeling like a title was worth the effort sounds like a fairly Marisa thing to do, but it does make things a little complicated.

While I'm on the subject, is the version on the Board (as amended in a couple of places) what you'd consider the final version?

Since he's had to assume full household responsibilities and also run around after his pitiable wife, who has food poisoning. Does it demystify him if you imagine him queuing up to buy Pepto-Bismal?

Anyway I'm also an oldbie, but I cleverly avoid intimidating people by never posting. Strategy! I don't really write much anymore, for the PPC or in general, because I'm a nursing student, which absorbs 100% of my energy.

hS and I met on the Board, and I can confirm that he's always been quite a formal poster. However, that was more scceptable in the early days--microblogging and facebook and Tumblr didn't rule the internet yet. You definitely typed on a keyboard, not a phone. Social media was more long-form, and communication was a bit less pithy. Think of hS and I as cranky old people relics from another age.

Of course hS is also pretty evil. Or should I call him... Huinesauron. :-0

I've been seriously impressed by the magic circles, by the way. The amount of work you're putting into making the geometry harmonious is very apparent, and good grief, you actually invented a script to use for the Speech. Stop making us all look bad with your awesomeness! ^~

Another Gathering is definitely in order. We'll look forward to seeing you when you return to this green and pleasant isle.

I am... definitely playing fast and lose with volcanology and rocketry to make the narrative plausible- but the underlying theory is vaguely sound. I do not recommend trying it at home.

My imagined outcome is that it would have functioned- not perfectly, some things would have gone badly, some people would have gotten hurt. But it would have been a serviceable solution. Except, of course, when you're throwing around terms like "no power limits" and "cubic kilometers of rock", you really need to put the right name in the circle.

And that breezy "oh, nobody will get hurt, it'll be fine" is so very in keeping with the other big theme of the piece! Julia needed to do a lot more listening- starting with listening to herself. She'd been deliberately ignoring herself for years.

That is an amazing work of art and I'm deeply impressed by your handwriting skills- thank you for putting it together!

I applied for film school to study cinematography in London a few weeks ago. The admissions team said "Cool, we like your application, and we'd like you to come in for an interview but since you can't do that, finish a script and a storyboard for us, and send us examples of your past work and you're in."

I got my second round sent to the head of the film program last week, and today, I got the news: I'm in.

Term starts in September and I'll be staying there for three years—and hopefully making the move permanent once I graduate.

You know what this means, right? We'll have to have another Gathering sometime in the future!

Though anything along the lines of "Even Younger Wizards" is right out. ;)

And I'm pretty sure I intended that emote to be that chapter's title. |D "Assurance" could work otherwise, though.

... is there a title for the whole story?
